Which Special Buildings are Best for You?

As players, we currently have to decide which special buildings are most valuable to level up first. This is due to releases not being immediately available.

The answer lies in your own account! Consequently, it all depends on your build and what your city is set up to accomplish. Now, let’s dive into these stats and functions.

Defense/Trap

  • Black Market: Attack, Defense, Health
  • Speed Treasury: Monster Lair Demigod Trap Defense, Defense Debuff
  • Archaeology Hall: Empire Defender Defense, Mercenary Defense
  • Gear Workshop: Empire Defender Attack, Mercenary Attack
  • Alchemy Lab: Trap Attack, Attack Debuff
  • Treasury: Trap Health, Health Debuff
  • Mausoleum: Health, Mercenary Health

Attack/Rally Lead

  • Black Market: Attack, Defense, Health
  • Speed Treasury: Demigod Trap Defense, Defense Debuff
  • Alchemy Lab: Trap Attack, Attack debuff
  • Imperial Banner: Empire Rally Attack, Wonder Rally Attack, Rally Attack Debuff while holding the Wonder
  • Treasury: Trap Health, Health Debuff
  • Graveyard: Rally Health, Wonder Holding Health, Rally Health Debuff while holding Wonder
  • Mausoleum: Health, Mercenary Health

Wonders

  • Black Market: Attack, Defense, Health
  • Explorer Dungeon: Wonder holding Attack Debuff while Rallying, Wonder holding Health Debuff while Rallying
  • Imperial Banner: Empire Rally Attack, Wonder Rally Attack, Rally Attack Debuff while holding the Wonder
  • Treasury: Trap Health, Health Debuff
  • Mausoleum: Health, Mercenary Health

But What About the Pantheon and the Monster Lair?

These two buildings differ slightly from the other special buildings. The Monster Lair is technically not apart of the special building instant leveling. The Pantheon is included. However, the Pantheon does not give stat increases based on the building upgrade. The Monster Lair will increase health debuff, defense, and wonder holding attack with each level that you upgrade.

How to Utilize Each Special Building

As of right now, not all of the special buildings are equipped for demigods. However, if and when they do get updated, this guide will become updated as well!

Black Market:  This is where you can trade in your Black Market tokens for a variety of different in-game materials. You can get anything from resources to hero medals, VIP points, avatars, or even gear. The best way to earn these tokens is in the Black Market Speed Dungeon or through different events. This building is very helpful when you need a little extra or if you are not a big spender.

Gear Workshop: We all spend a lot of time here! The Gear Workshop has many different purposes. You can improve your gear level. The Power Up and Quality Improvement gear enhancements are upgraded here also. Finally, you can increase the set gear leveling as well.

Imperial Banner: Banners are easy to use. Pick the four banners that you want to use on your city, and apply them from the Imperial banner building. Don’t forget to combine banners in the forge so you have the highest level. Above all, banners have been reorganized!!! They are now in order from earliest release to the most recent released banner being at the very bottom.

Graveyard: Have you ever stopped to think about how many graveyards your hero is listed in ?!? The Graveyard list all the dead heroes. The heroes you have killed, and your heroes that have been executed, both are listed for all to see in the graveyard.

Pantheon: The Pantheon building has changed a bit. The deities used to unlock based upon the level of your building. Nevertheless, things are always evolving. The Pantheon research tree was recently released. As a result, the deities are unlocked based on your progress in the research.

Monster Lair: The monster Lair is where all of the monsters that are added to your marches are kept. Here you can upgrade the rank and level of each monster. Glancing at monster stats are easy to do here as well.

On the other hand, the Treasury, Speed Treasury, Explorer Dungeon, Mausoleum, and the Alchemy Lab do not currently have a specific function.

Special Buildings are Important!

The stats on the special buildings are not to be overlooked. For instance, they provide significant stat increases in every major area.

First, know which stats are most important to your city. Next, look through the lists at the top to see which buildings are the best for your build. Then, as you acquire more upgrade materials, focus just on those specific buildings. Likewise, you need to max those buildings first. Finally, you can continue to other buildings or perhaps use an instant upgrade.

In conclusion, the special buildings are a vital part of any build. You definitely do not want to overlook them!

Elf on the Shelf’s Adventure in Game of War and other Christmas Fun

Christmas quickly approaches and the festivities have begun. Elf on the Shelf is a fun Holiday tradition for many families with children. This year, our elf Buddy decided to pay a visit to Teamrealtips. While visiting he had his own adventure in Game of War. Buddy asked us to share his adventure with all of you. He had quite the tale to weave. In addition, join us after Buddy tells his story for some classic Christmas carols, Game of War style.

Buddy Visits Game of War and Meets a Dragon

Buddy Rides a DragonBuddy looked about and saw so many things to explore. After the screen had loaded he was taken to a world that seemed as if it would be fun to explore. He found a dragon egg just waiting to be hatched and had dreams of flying about on his very own dragon. He saw people farming and people attacking.

Buddy was not sure how he felt about the people attacking, it did not seem that Santa would like that very much but then he noticed that some of the people liked being attacked so he thought it must be okay. Buddy sat and pondered the dragon. After a moment he decided he would come back to this but that he wanted to explore the rest of this world first.

Buddy Visits Kingdom Chat

Buddy Visits KCBuddy was drawn to laughter and chatter and he soon heard much of it coming from a room people referred to as Kingdom Chat. He decided that this was a place he should visit. Buddy saw people laughing and saying silly things. He thought this must be a nice place to spend time.

Buddy continued to watch the chatter and the people that were in this room. However, soon his cheeks began to flush red. It seemed not all the people in this room were nice, in fact, some of them were quite naughty. Buddy was not sure what he would report to Santa about this. Naughty or nice, he was not sure but in this room it seemed there were all types.

Buddy Meets Jingles the Hero

Jingles the HeroBuddy decided that he no longer wished to spend time in this place they called Kingdom Chat. He knew that his friend, Cinder, from Teamrealtips, was somewhere and decided that he should pay her a visit. Buddy wandered the kingdom looking for Cinder everywhere to no avail.

However, soon Buddy remembered that Cinder had told him she sometimes changed her name. He began his search anew and on his hunt for Cinder he encountered a Hero named Jingles out hunting the monsters that roamed about.

This name seemed familiar to Buddy and so he followed Jingles. As they walked Buddy remembered that Cinder had shown him pictures and she had a hero named Jingles. Could this be her hero, Jingles, he wondered? Jingles soon headed home and Buddy saw that this did indeed look like where Cinder would be.

Buddy decided to pay Jingles a visit. He watched Jingles and saw that there were different outfits that Jingles changed into when she was doing different things. He also saw that Jingles had two friends who would sometimes give her a break. Buddy saw that each of these friends had their own special skills and did something different.

Buddy Visits the Forge

Buddy Visits the ForgeBuddy was curious about the equipment that these heroes wore. He decided that it was time for him to visit the Forge. You see Buddy was a very curious elf indeed and he wanted to know about every little thing. So away to the Forge he went for some lessons on crafting and gear.

Buddy soon found himself covered in soot as he explored all of the materials and items that were contained within the forge. He learned how to combine things and learned what cores were for. Buddy learned that there were a lot of different things the Heroes could wear and that each thing had its own special use. He saw that different colors were better and that sometimes if you had a whole outfit it gave you extra special abilities. It all seemed quite magical to Buddy. He wished that he could have his own set of special gear.

Buddy Visits the Wonder

Buddy Visits the WonderWhile at the Forge, Buddy saw gear sets with special abilities for something called Wonder. Buddy wondered what in the world was a Wonder. So he decided to find out and began to wander about looking all over for something called Wonder. Eventually, Buddy stumbled upon a forest. Since he could not find the Wonder anywhere else he decided to check out the forest. Buddy slowly tread his way through the trees. It was a lot slower exploring here then it was in the rest of the kingdom.

After a little Buddy began to see a clearing ahead. He came to the edge of the forest and in the middle sat what he decided must be the Wonder. Buddy watched and saw that there were lots of people here and that occasionally someone would gather soldiers together in a rally and attack the Wonder. He watched as the Wonder changed hands and different people became king.

The kings all wore the Special Wonder Gear and carried special banners. Buddy was fascinated watching the back and forth.

Buddy Decides He Would like to Be King

Buddy As KingAs Buddy watched the back and forth between the different players he decided that he would like to be king as well. Buddy decided to begin to gather a list of the things he would need to be king. Well, the first thing was he would need some friends in an alliance so he could rally but he was sure that he could convince an alliance to take in a small scout elf with dreams of making it big.

As Buddy planned his rise to royalty he got distracted and began to dream of himself wearing a crown with his new friends at his side. He would give them all their very own titles too! Buddy wished there were enough titles to give all the nice people in this Kingdom. However, he was not sure about the negative titles, Buddy thought it would be very naughty indeed to give those out so he decided he only would if people really wanted them. Buddy imagined all the fun he would have as king and decided that was a goal he would need to work on. However, for now, it was time to report to Santa.

Buddy Writes to Santa

Buddy Writes to SantaBuddy had a long day and needed to report to Santa. He wanted to spend more time here though and so he decided that he would write Santa a letter just for today.

Dear Santa,

Today I have visited a place called Game of War. At first, I was not quite sure about the things that go on here. They fight and attack each other and seem to enjoy setting things on fire. It all seemed quite naughty. However, as I explored this Kingdom more I saw that some of the people here actually like being attacked and set on fire.

I am not sure that I really understand it but it made it seem less naughty since it made others happy. I visited a place called Kingdom Chat and some people there were very nice but others, well Santa, I’m sad to report they were quite naughty.

I rode dragons and learned that here you can take turns being king. It has been quite the adventure Santa and I cannot wait to tell you more. However, for now, I must explore more, I plan to become king too!

Love,

Buddy the Scout Elf

Laughing all the way
Fires Rage Tonight
Making Spirits Bright
What fun it is to Rally and Burn our Kingdom to the Ground

Oh.. Rally and Burn, Rally and Burn
Rally and Burn all the way
Oh what fun it is to burn our Kingdom to the Ground

Let it Burn

(To the Tune of Let it Snow)

Well the Rally Outside is Frightful
But the Fire is so Delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn

When we finally log out for the night
How we hate putting down our phones
But if you really burn it right
All night long I’ll be warm

The Little Things That You Shouldn’t Forget About in Dragon War Dimension

There are so many features and items to keep track of when playing Game of War, it can get overwhelming. This can mean that sometimes the little things can get overlooked and forgetting about them can make the difference between being capped or burned.

In this article, we are going to explore some of the little things that shouldn’t be forgotten when building your Dragon War Dimension account.

Gems

Let’s start with one of the little things that can make a huge difference. Gems are integral to the game and when leveled can add some amazing stats to your build. Currently, in the Dragon War Dimension, the gems that are available are limited but this also makes it a little easier to choose what gems you want to use for your setup. Here we will look at gems that are available and what stats they offer. However, be aware the gems you choose to use will be dependent on what you are able to level up and the stats that you want to enhance for your build.

Gems

  • Infantry Gem- This Gem offers Infantry Attack at level 6 it gives 48%
  • Cavalry Gem- This Gem offers Cavalry Attack at level 6 it also gives 48%
  • Ranged Gem- This Gem offers Ranged Attack at level 6 it gives 48%
  • Health Gem- This gives a Troop Health Bonus at level 6 you get 22%
  • Siege Gem- This gem gives Siege Attack at level 6 it gives 48%

  • Trap Gem- This Gem increases the attack of all Traps within your City at level 6 it gives 81%
  • March Gem- Increases the March Speed of all Troop Types at Level 6 it offers 11%
  • Demigod Dimension Barrage Gem- Offers Troop Attack Bonus
  • Demigod Dimension Getaway Gem- Offers Troop Defense Bonus
  • Demigod Dimension Cryptonom Gem- Offers Trap Attack, Troop Attack Bonus, and Troop Defense Bonus.
  • Torment Gem- This Gem offers a Rally Attack Bonus at level 6 it gives 25%

Special Gems

These gems are a little different from the ones we listed above. They go in the fourth gem slot which is only available to be opened when you have completed the research in your Craft Research Tree to open them. In order to complete this research, you must be at least Academy Level 25.

  • Prophecy Gem- this gem allows you to embed another Gem that matches the type of an already embedded Gem. By increasing the level of your prophecy Gem you increase the level of the duplicate Gem you can embed.
  • Hades Gem- Hades Gems allows you to apply an “invisibility cloak” to your gear and prevents enemies from seeing what you are wearing. By leveling up these Gems you can increase the level of equipment you are able to cloak.
  • Demigod Dimension Oversmash Gem- This Gem offers Trap Attack, Troop Attack Bonus, and Troop Defense Bonus
  • Garnet Gem- This Gem increases the Attack and HP of all Infantry Troops
  • Topaz Gem- This Gem increases the Attack and HP of all Cavalry Troops
  • Sapphire Gem- This Gem increases the Attack and HP of all Ranged Troops
  • Monster Gem- This Gem Increases your Hero’s March Speed when Attacking a Monster and the Likelihood of dealing a Critical Hit
  • Haunted Gem- This Gem offers Troop Defense at level 6 it gives 25%
  • Wonder Defending Gem- This Gem offers Troop Attack while Holding the Wonder at level 6 it gives 48%. This gem is available in loyalty rewards.

Banners

While we mention banners in the Dragon City Walkthrough it is appropriate to mention them here as well. Banners offer some nice boosts that can give you the extra edge that you need. Be sure to combine them to higher levels when you are able to. However, make sure you watch your cooldown times as well. Do not activate your banners until you need them or they will run out and you will have to wait out the cooldown time before you are able to activate them again.

Villas or Hospitals or Barracks?

There is often the debate of what to build more of within your city. Currently out of these three buildings villas are the only one that gives combat stats. However, there are definitely benefits to building hospitals and barracks as well.

  • Villas- these give defense however, they do not begin to give defense until level 10 and the amount is minimal until you reach higher levels of this building.
  • Hospitals– by building hospitals you are able to increase the number of beds you have available for your troops to decrease the number of troops you may lose when you are hit. This is a good setup in events such as KE due to being able to heal quickly and gain points while not giving away points.
  • Barracks- Barracks offer the ability to train more troops. For players who want to train large quantities of troops quickly, Barracks are going to be your best bet. However, for players who go this route, you will be dependent on your troop count to keep you safe.

For more detailed information about these buildings make sure you take a look at a Dragonville City Walkthrough.

Athena’s Armory

Athena’s Armory is another place that is available to get some well-hidden boosts. While this feature can be expensive to level up and get the lower level set bonuses if you are able to purchase the unlock in the Black Market and work towards crafting gold sets then the set bonuses you receive can give a good boost.

Note that if you do plan on leveling this building up it does give a substantial increase in power so be cautious before deciding to take this route. Below we will take a look at set bonuses offered.

wdt_ID Level Benefit Cost
1 2 Unlock Set Bonuses up to Basic 20 Blueprints
2 3 Unlock Set Bonuses up to Common 40 Blueprints
3 4 Unlock Set Bonuses up to Uncommon 60 Blueprints
4 5 Unlock Set Bonuses up to Rare 80 Blueprints
5 6 Unlock Set Bonuses up to Epic 300 Blueprints

Altar Boosts and Prisoner Boosts

Another place you can receive boosts is from your altar. However, in order to receive these, your altar boosts must be active. In order to be active, you are required to execute or have a Hero hemlock in your prison. The benefits for the altar increase as you level it up more. For traps be cautious as a graveyard that is too good could signal leads that you are not a good target.

You are also able to receive benefits by holding heroes in your prison. However, these do not begin until level 30. When doing this the higher the level of the hero and your prison the higher the boost you receive. For example, if you have a level 30 prison and prisoner level 81+ you receive 40% all troop attack. However, if you have the same hero but a level 40 prison you receive 56% all troop attack. Lower hero levels give lower bonuses.

Boosts

There are many boosts within the Dragon War Dimension that can also prove to be helpful. We have everything from basic combat boosts to anti-scout boosts. Each of these boosts serves their own purpose and can be applied in different situations. However, they are all helpful to different aspects of gameplay.

Boosts

  • Attack
  • Troop Health
  • Fake Army- this makes your army appear larger when you are scouted
  • March Size
  • Anti Scout- One of my favorites this keeps your opponents from being able to see what you are hiding in your Stronghold
  • Troop Queue- This allows you to train larger quantities of troops at once
  • Monster Attack- Kill those monsters faster
  • Upkeep Reductions
  • Production Boosts
  • Gathering Boosts
  • Hero XP- Boost the amount of Hero XP you are receiving to level your Hero Faster

Boost Hall

The Boost Hall has been added and there a few boosts that are currently available here. There are three tabs when you go into the Boost Hall.

  1. Athena’s Rewards
  2. Economics
  3. Combat

While the Economics Boosts are always great to have the ones we really want to focus in on are the Combat Boosts. These are some great hidden stats for traps and leads alike to give you the extra boost you need.

Under Combat you have the following Boosts available:

  • 125% Infantry, Cavalry, and Ranged Attack
  • 100% Infantry, Cavalry, and Ranged Attack
  • 75% Infantry, Cavalry, and Ranged Attack
  • 50% Infantry, Cavalry, and Ranged Attack
  • 45% Health, Defense, and Attack
  • 35% Health, Defense, and Attack
  • 25% Health, Defense, and Attack
  • 15% Health, Defense, and Attack

What is important to note is that you do not need to unlock these in order. You can unlock 125% Infantry Attack first if you want. The boosts you pick to unlock first will be heavily based on how your own account is set up. For example, an account who is relying heavily on attack will unlock the type attack and troop attack boosts first. If you are a trap and you are doing well at killing off your attacker’s march but are struggling with capping then you will want Defense and Health Boosts.

Materials for Athena’s Rewards are not currently being given out. However, under Economics there are many boosts to help you on your way including boosts for Gathering, Capacity, Production, Construction, and Research. Under the Combat tab, you have Type Stats for your Troops. This offers Ranged, Infantry, and Cavalry Attack. Be sure to use your Boost Hall Components wisely and remember you do not need to unlock them in order.

VIP

Finally, last but not least we will cover VIP. VIP currently maxes at level 40. VIP can make a considerable difference in stats and give that extra little boost that can push you over the edge. While this feature is one that can be a little more expensive it is definitely not one you want to forget.

VIP benefits include things such as production, quests, combat stats, construction Speed Ups, and more. Below we will take a look at some of the Combat Stats that are offered by VIP and when they begin.

  • Troop Health Bonus- This unlocks at Level 8 and gives a Troop Health Bonus of 8% maxing at level 40 with a Troop Health Bonus of 250%.
  • Troop Defense Bonus- This unlocks at VIP 9 and gives a Troop Defense Bonus of 16% maxing at VIP 40 with a Troop Defense Bonus of 250%.
  • Troop Attack Bonus- This unlocks at VIP 10 and gives a Troop Attack Bonus of 24% maxing at VIP 40 with a Troop Attack Bonus of 250%.
  • Share Combat Report- This is helpful is seeing how other players are built and being able to help Alliance members with Attack methods. This opens at VIP 20.
  • Hero Preset- This Opens at VIP 24 for Hero 1 and offers 1 Hero Preset with a max of 3 Hero Presets at VIP 30. For Hero 2 Presets open at VIP 34 with 1 Hero Preset and max with 3 Hero Presets at VIP 40. This allows for a quick change in gear when attacking or defending. This may be especially useful for Wonder Players who want to swap from Hermes Gear to Combat Gear. However, be aware that currently skills are resetting as well.
  • Master Combine opens at VIP 40.
  • Upkeep Reductions
    • Food 100% at VIP 38
    • Cane 100% at VIP 39
    • Cheese 100% at VIP 40

When considering leveling up your VIP be sure to consider how much VIP is in the pack and what that will do for your Stats. However, also note that there is not currently a permanent VIP benefit so you will need to activate your VIP when needing to use it. Be sure to do so when you have an incoming attack as this can make up a large portion of your stats.

The little things in Game of War add up and can make a big difference. So be sure you are aware of what is out there and how to use those little things to your benefit.

What little things do you depend on for your setup? Comment below with any thoughts or questions.

How to Dominate Kill Events in the Dragon War Dimension Part 2

$

0

In the previous article, we focused in on three things that you are able to do in order to be able to dominate in Dragon War Dimension Kill Events. However, there is a lot of knowledge that is still needed when entering Kill Events. Such as who to hit and who to take hits from and how to protect yourself when taking hits.

If you missed Part 1 of this article be sure to take a moment to go back and give it a read:

How to Dominate Kill Events in the Dragon War Dimension Part 1

In this article, we are going to go a little more in-depth and take a look at finding good targets, protecting yourself and the most important part of Kill Events.

Three More Steps to Dominating a Dragon War Dimension Kill Event

In Part 1 we gave you three steps, today we will give you three more steps. From protecting yourself to finding targets this is needed information. Our third step, however, is the most important one out of all the information we have given you thus far.

Step One: Protect Yourself

The first and most important thing about Kill Events and being able to dominate is that you protect yourself. Before the event starts you should know that you can safely take hits before you log out with no shield. If you think that there is a risk to your account with no shield then use one.

In the Line App, we talk a lot about burn and learn, however, burning and learning do not happen as you get zeroed while offline during a Kill Event. Okay, so it does somewhat but it is not something pleasant to log into. Know that people will actively be looking for targets and keep yourself safe.

Steps to Protecting Yourself During Kill Events
  1. Shield- See above.
  2. Use Your Dragon- When taking Rallies if you are unable to cap the Dragon actually helps as a “cushion” to your troops. While you may not cap your Dragon can save troops and get reined by your Alliance members with their Dragons will help even more.
  3. Test, Test, Test- In Part 1 we talked about being sure to kill each other in your own Kingdom, part of that is testing so that you know your limits! While some trap accounts are built to take rallies from the average lead, not every account is a Unicorn Hunter. There is no shame in shielding or not taking a hit from a max player if you are not built for it.

Step Two: Know what a Good target looks like

In Part 1 we talked about scouting and finding active players. We also talked about using ports wisely and ensuring that you find hives with a few viable targets in order to be able to get the most use out of them. We also talked some about being sure that your targets are active. However, what we did not cover was how to determine whether or not they were a good target. So let’s take a look at what you need to look at when determining whether an account is a good target.

Step One: Scout

This seems like the most obvious. There are two things that can happen when you scout another player.

  1. You Get a Report.
  2. You Discover they have Anti-Scout on.

Obviously, if they have anti on they are trying to hide something. However, if they do not have anti on there are a couple of things you want to look at in their scout report.

  1. What is their troop composition
    1. Are they using low tier troops?
    2. How many Troops do they have?
    3. Are they heavy on a certain troop type?
  2. Is their Dragon Home? If it is what kind of HP does it have?
  3. Take a peek at their buildings
    1. Do they have a lot of high-level hospitals? If so they are depending on the beds to help save their troops. Be sure to check if there are any troops currently in their hospitals as well.
    2. Do they have a lot of High-Level Villas? These players are looking for the extra defense they get from these buildings?
    3. Do they have a lot of High-Level Barracks? These players are more focused on being able to train a lot of troops quickly.
  4. Check for Reinforcements Especially other players dragons.
  5. Check for boosts they may be running.

The next few things we will take a look at are things you need to check on every player, not just players that you are able to successfully scout.

Step Two: Check out their VIP

VIP can tell you a lot about a player. Including how good their stats are! VIP offers a lot of Attack, Defense, and Health. You can also tell if an account is active or willing to spend by their VIP. A high VIP on a low power account means a player is trying to compensate for a low troop count with higher stats.

Step Three: Check out their Gear

Some accounts know how to make off gear look tempting. However, some accounts also know how to cap in off gear. At times it comes down to just trying it out. Gear can tell us a lot, however, so we need to be aware of what we are looking for.

  • Players with a lot of Arbiters on are relying on the extra attack to help them kill off your march.
  • If they have a lot of Sentinel on they are relying on their troops to kill yours and their defense to keep them safe.
  • A mix of Arbiters and Sentinel they are using the attack to help kill off your march and the Defense to reduce their losses (this is typically a good combo).
  • If they have on Vindicators they are relying on the health to make their troops stronger.
  • Off Gear, they are either really good or just got caught in bad gear! Watch for signs of them being online.
  • Let’s be honest. Some people have no clue what they are doing with gear and it may look good but it’s not. While others are great with gear. So while checking out the gear is a good guideline it is not an end-all, you will still see players burn in good gear.
Step Four: Check Their Hero Level

Hero Level is also something that reveals a lot about a player. A higher hero level, of course, means when skilled correctly they are able to have a higher level of stats such as attack and health. However, some players do very well with a low-level hero too. One of the most important things to note about hero is the power.

The hero can actually add a lot of power into the set-up. Many traps will strategically keep their hero a lower level in order to avoid large power gains. At hero, Level 45 at least four million of power can be attributed to their hero and this continues to increase as the hero continues to level up.

Step Five: Check out their Stats

There are a few places you should check their stats. However, they can be very telling.

First: Check their Graveyard

Do they keep a clean graveyard or is it littered with high-level heroes and signs of an account that is going to hold your hero until it is ready to die? A graveyard can be very telling. In addition, check heroes captured vs. their graveyard. An account with a lot of heroes captured but a squeaky clean graveyard may be an old school keep my graveyard clean trap.

Second: Check their defenses won vs. defenses lost

This is very telling. Does this player successfully defend a majority of the time? Or are they typically losing defenses?

DefensesThird: Check their Troops Hospitalized

If you are worried about a player having a lot of hospitals check and see their troops hospitalized count. A high count here is indicative of an account that relies heavily on their hospitals to save their troops.

Troops HospitalizedFourth: Check Enemy Power Destroyed

An account that is very obviously not a lead account but has a high amount of enemy power Destroyed is killing a lot of troops off of other players. Or they are filling a lot of rallies. However, be cognizant of this number when you are checking out stats.

Power Destroyed

Step Three: Have Fun

From Part 1 to Part 2 this is the most important step out of all of them. HAVE FUN!! At the end of the day enjoy your alliance and have fun. There are a lot of things you can do to push your score over the top and to be able to score well. However, it should be enjoyable as well. If you are not having fun then being the top scorer really is not that important. We all get competitive and it is great to strive to do our best but do not lose the fun in the game or you will not appreciate the victories that you do obtain.

Demigod Realm Banners

Since the release of Demigod Realm, and then Dragon Realm, it can seem very overwhelming to pick which banner is best for you. While RealTips has a spreadsheet listing all banners, this post will serve as an active guide to sorting out which banner is best for you.

Keep In Mind

This is not a list that tells you which banners are the best when defending, or the best when attacking, etc. This is a list of which banners have the best defense stats, which banners have the best attack stats, and so on and so forth. Only you knows what your account needs. Defending takes a mix of both defense and attack. When you set a rally, you may need an attack banner because a rally attack banner just isn’t providing enough attack. So use these as a guide on the stats alone, and not as a guide for which banners are the best for your account. No two accounts are alike, therefore you should not rely on anything that says “one size fits all” in regards to your account.

Attacking Banners

These banners and gems are the best for solo attacks, not rallies. The most important stat you want to look for is the troop, trap, mythic, mercenary attack. Besides the attack, you want to prioritize defense debuff, type attack, and health.

  • The One’s Demigod Predestined Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Enriched Banner
  • Demigod Warm Welcome Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Regalia Banner
  • Ghastly Wail Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Supreme General Banner
  • Vantage Banner
  • Rampage Banner
  • Victory Banner
  • Dragon War Dimension Dragon Slayer Banner

Rally Attack Banners

When rallying targets, you need, once again, to stack as much attack as possible to try and get through the wall traps. Rally attack adds to the overall attack to make your hit even stronger. Adding rally health will keep your troops tougher.

  • The One’s Demigod Predestined Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Enriched Banner
  • Vantage Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Regalia Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Supreme General Banner
  • Dragon War Dimension Dragon Scale Banner
  • Rampage Banner

Defending Banners

In the Demigod Realm, it is almost unheard of for players to capture a hero. The attack needed to kill the entire incoming march is just not there, unless a really weak account is hitting a really strong account. Attack and defense can both be used to defend successfully.  Back up your attack and defense with health and attack debuff.

  • Helmsplitter Banner
  • Victory Banner
  • Ghastly Wail Banner
  • Reflective Armor Banner
  • Dragon War Dimension Dragons Tome Banner

Wonders can be a little more tricky to figure out, as you need to  both attack the wonder and hold the wonder. When attacking the wonder, you want to make sure that you are using as much attack as possible, so you don’t want to forget rally attack, as well as rally health. These days in game, holding the wonder is much harder than taking it over. You may need a different set of banners for rallying versus holding the wonder. When you are occupying the wonder, you want to make sure you are taking advantage of all the wonder holding attack and wonder holding health. Debuffs for the wonder have been introduced as well. The debuff is potent in Wonder scenarios because the troop counts are equal for both attacking and holding the wonder.

  • The One’s Demigod Predestined Banner
  • Demigod Warm Welcome Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Enriched Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Regalia Banner
  • The One’s Demigod Supreme General Banner
  • Dragon War Dimension Dragon Scale Banner
  • Rampage Banner

As always, only you are going to know what’s best for your account. Get out there and test your banners to see which one works best for your city!

Ancient Gear Guide

Ancient Gear has been brought back to the Demigod Dimension! Some of our favorite gear from the early years of Game of War have been revamped, and now we can all enjoy a bit of nostalgia when we suit up in Xena, Executioners, or Samurai Gear.

Crafting the Ancient Gear Sets

Collecting Materials

For starters, we will first go through the steps to craft these Ancient Gear sets, as it is completely different than the Champion and Conqueror gear sets.  The first thing that needs to be done is collecting materials. This can be done by buying the Ancient Gear set packs, or you can complete the Bonus Reanimation events.

These events reset each hour and only require minimal cost and effort to complete. Completing each event will award you one Samurai chest, one Executioners chest, and two Xenas Chest. These chests will reward you with materials that you need to craft each set.

 Using the Forge

The first thing you want to do in the forge is to combine your materials to make them the highest level possible. When you go to craft the gear, you will see the gear piece, the materials that you have for that piece, and the chance that it will end up being either gray, white, green, blue, purple, or gold.

In the example above, there is only a 10% chance that the gear would be legendary. The best thing to do is to wait until you have all gold materials, to guarantee the highest level of gear.

Using the Gear Workshop

Now, as many will tell you, there are times we all feel lucky.  We see a 70 or 80 percent chance at a gold piece and decide to try our luck. Unfortunately, we all cant be lucky, and you may end up with a purple piece instead of a gold piece. In this situation, you would then need to use your gear workshop. This is the part that is similar to the other gear sets. You can use the improvement materials specific to each Ancient Gear set to improve the level of your gear piece.

Cost of Improvement:

  • Basic (grey) to Common: 7m
  • Common (white) to Uncommon: 8m
  • Uncommon (green) to Rare: 10m
  • Rare (blue) to Epic: 25m
  • Epic (purple) to Legendary (gold): 50m

At this current time, there are no enhancements or power up levels for these Ancient Gear sets. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them released sometime soon.

Comparing Ancient Gear to Champion/Conqueror

The most important thing you can do is to know what you need in your account. Do you need more defense? Could your account use more attack? Knowing what you need is the first step. After that, you can go through and compare piece by piece which gear piece has the most stats for what you need.

For instance, in the Xena Gear Set, the Helm and the Boots have more defense than either Conqueror or Champion fully powered up and enhanced. Mixing pieces have better results than using a full set of Ancient Gear. Most people worry about the set gear bonus being lost. However, remember that the set bonus is in the armory. Even if you mix the sets, you will still retain that set gear bonus if you have the pieces open in your inventory.

In conclusion, these sets are a bonus for all. The materials are easy for everyone to get, easy to craft, and they definitely can boost your stats if you missed any of the limited time gear. As long as you pay attention to what you need in your account, then the Ancient Gear Sets will surely enhance your gear sets.

Defending in Demigod Realm

$

When it comes to Demigod defense, it’s been evolving in Game of War. While many assume that defending is the same as being a trap, it’s simply not true. Trapping is the art of appearing to have a weak account when, in fact, it’s very strong. If you are simply building to defend, you are not worried at all about appearing to have a small account worth hitting. You simply just want to make sure you can fill rallies and drop your shield without the fear of being burned by a solo or rally.

In this article, we will go over what it will take to have a safe build, a basic safe Demigod defense account.

Important Stats

Knowing which stats are important when defending is the most important piece of information to have. This will allow you to guide yourself through gear, hero skills, and other areas such as the Boost Hall with greater ease

Of course, we all know that Demigod defense, attack, and health are the most important. Also important are attack and health debuffs. But remember that those are supporting stats, and they affect the attacking player’s troops and not your own. Any stats that improve your troops are stronger than the stats that affect the incoming troops. Having high debuffs will not save you if you have not made sure your demigod attack and demigod defense and demigod health are as high as you can get them. Right now the demigod defense debuff is around 65k, so you want to push to get your defense above that number.

Another thing to keep in mind is the importance of trap stats. Your traps take the brunt of the hit and are usually the only thing lost in a battle. Make sure you have trap attack, trap defense, and trap health maxed anywhere possible.

Gear

Depending on what kind of set up you are using will greatly influence your choice of gear. It also will have a lot to do with which pieces of gear you have leveled up, powered up, and enhanced the farthest.

Because the defense debuff is around 250k, you first want to make sure that you have gear that will get your defense over that DD stat. Then, add in pieces that have a lot of attack to help kill more of the incoming march. Some of the attack pieces will also have attack debuff in them as well, so those are beneficial in more than one way.

Since the release of the new Ancient Gear Sets, it’s now easier than ever to catch up if you missed any of the Champion or Conqueror Set pieces. The new sets, Xena, Executioner, and Samurai, are permanent gear sets that max at legendary (gold). The materials can be obtained through chests in packs, or by completing the Bonus Reanimation Events that reset every hour. The Xena is defense gear, the Executioner Set is solo attack or defense debuff Gear, and the Samurai Gear is for rally attack. Mixing these gear pieces with the Champion and Conqueror sets produce very good results as well. Keep in mind that the Set Bonus comes from the armory. As long as you have a full set in your inventory, you will get the set bonus, no matter if you have the gear equipped or not.

To get more details on gear, RealTips has two more detailed articles to help you with your selection of Gear and their Stats

Troop Composition

This is a highly debatable subject matter, as well as highly diversified. But keep in mind, your troop build will be directly related to your stats. If you have higher stats that are closer to max, then you can cut your troop count down farther than most. However, if you’re stats are average to below average, you will need extra troops to help you take those hits. Keep in mind, this is a general recommendation for most players to build safe to take hits. We recognize that there are many possibilities to choose from, especially if you like to play different styles, but this is the most general setup recommended to not burn.

Building to Not Burn

First, using t4 as a meat shield is no longer suggested. The amounts that you would need to build would be very costly and would increase your power exponentially. The cost of building the t4 needed to not burn could be put to use in other areas.

T5 is the most efficient tier to use for building your meat shield. Currently, you will need at least two billion t5 traps and 500million t5 mythics to not burn for a t7 rally. If you are going up against a notorious maxed account, they may even need more. Many players are also choosing to go all t6 troops to keep power low. This is an expensive build, but very effective. If you have the means to do it, then go for it!

Hero And Hero Skills

Which Hero you use will greatly depend on the levels of the heroes you have open. Just because you have the new Beryl hero will not mean that it’s the best one to use, especially if it’s not level 85 or above. That seemed to be the point at which the Beryl had higher stats than the Blue Knight.

The Valk, Spartan, and Frost heroes have all been updated now as well. Currently, Valk gives better stats at 180 over a maxed Beryl hero.

Like discussed in the Stat section above, you want to first skill your demigod attack, demigod defense, and demigod health. After that attack debuff and health debuff would be important. Finally, make sure you skill the individual type attacks and type defenses.

What About Mercenary and Dragon Realm Stats?

Many ask about the Dragon Realm stats, Whirlpool, Gushing Lava, and Desert Storm. These are actually type stats in themselves. Whirlpool is the same as Waterlord, Gushing Lava is Firelord, and Desert Storm is Thunderlord. These type stats have been tested and are about one fifth the strength of the normal type stats. So unless you have plenty of extra skill points, don’t worry about putting skills in these spots.

Lastly, mercenary skills are also often questioned. We tested multiple times with the berserkers and even having banners that multiplied the berserker stats. None of the RealTips tests showed a change in the outcome when we skilled both mercenary defense and mercenary health. The Mercenary Attack did have a slight kill increase, although priority would definitely go towards Type attack over mercenary attack.

Banners and Gems

Banners and Gems are a great place to add what is missing. If you feel your account needs to kill more incoming troops, then use the banners that have the most attack. If you think you need to save more of your troops from being killed, then stack defense and attack debuff in gems and banners. You can quickly look at the banners and gems at RealTips previous posts on each of these topics!

Information about Demigod Banners is here.

Miscellaneous Information

Research- You want to do as much research as possible. Power gained from doing research is not anything to be concerned about any longer. Besides your gear, your research is your most powerful tool. Get in that academy and get to work!!

Lifetime Boost Hall- We can not stress the importance of this building enough. Although the stats seem small, they do all stack and will add up to a significant amount. Think about the stats we have discussed in this article, and then figure out what you think your account may be missing. This is one of the places where you can really get the Trap specific stats built up.  Use this boost hall to your advantage!!

VIP- Vip doesn’t necessarily need to be maxed, as this can sometimes defer leads from hitting you. If you are building a trap, then just upgraded little at a time. If you are just building to defend without burning no matter what it takes, then go ahead and get your VIP as high as you want.

Special Buildings- The special buildings are very important. These can be leveled as high as you can get them, and as long as you run Anti Scout, no one will know if you have them maxed or not. Some buildings to focus on leveling first for defending :

  • Black Market– Demigod attack, Demigod defense, and Demigod health
  • Alchemy Lab– trap attack and attack debuff
  • Speed Up Treasury– trap defense
  • Gear Workshop– empire defender demigod attack
  • Archeology Hall– empire defender demigod defense
  • Mausoleum– empire defender demigod health

There is also a special building guide to help decifer the order to upgrade these buildings!

While many players have found their own little tricks to the game, this is sure to be a safe demigod defense build for any player. Always keep in mind that as new releases come out, you want to increase your defense and also increase the number of traps and mythics you use for your meat shield. New Banner, Gems, and Accessories

Christmas is over! All the gifts were handed out!  Now, Demigod has a new banner, gems, and accessories for Ancient Gear.  In this article, we will take a look at each new item and see how they fit into our city setups.

Two New Banners for Your City!

The newest banner is named the “Warm Welcome Banner.” This is a banner that you would use for attacking or for holding the wonder.

  • 2500 % demigod attack
  • 2500% demigod troop attack while holding the wonder
  • 2500% demigod troop health while holding the wonder

There is also a new banner that you can get by completing the rewards streak in the gold store. The “One’s Demigod Predestined Banner” is a great banner for rallies, especially on the wonder, and also wonder holding.

  • 4000% demigod troop, trap, mythic attack
  • 2500% demigod rally attack
  • 3500% demigod wonder holding attack
  • 2500% demigod rally health
  • 3500% demigod wonder holding health
  • 2500% demigod health debuff

You can see how this banner compares to the rest by checking out our Demigod banner guide!

Jolly Gem Set

So, many may be confused because the blog announced this set as the Nobility Gem Set, and we all know that we already had a Nobility set released earlier this year. The actual name is the Jolly gem set. At first glance, some assume it is an attack gem set. However, the Jolly gem set is best for defending.

  • 130 % demigod attack
  • 175% demigod empire defender attack
  • 110% demigod defense’
  • 135% demigod health debuff

The Demigod Gem Guide is a great way to check out the best gems! Be sure to check it out!

New Winter Accessories

The Ancient Gear sets have new accessories to send a chill down your enemies spine! These new accessories add almost double the stats of the original accessories! If you are holding off on the Noble Gear pieces, these are a must have to keep your gear updated.

Demigod Shoguns Winter Conjure
  • 1670% demigod attack
  • 2300% demigod defense
  • 1250% demigod health
  • 620% demigod health debuff
  • 2400% demigod rally attack
Demigod Executioner Iceheart Ring
  • 2370% demigod defense
  • 1250% demigod health
  • 1960% demigod defense debuff
Demigod Kunoichi’s Frost Demon Set
  • 1590% demigod attack
  • 8400% demigod defense
  • 1460% demigod health
  • 1200% demigod attack debuff

There has been some debate about the set bonus since these accessories have been added. If you click on the armory, and then open each gear set, the new accessories are pictured in the gear sets. However, if you do not have one of the new accessories crafted, you will still meet the requirements for the set bonus. As long as you meet the requirements for the base and/or full set bonus, you will receive the stats. When each requirement is met, the stats will be lit up in green and have a green check mark at the top of each gear set when viewed from the armory.

These banners, gems, and accessories are a great way to add to your account! Even if you can’t have them all at once, you can certainly build using one or two things. As we watch the attack grow higher in the Demigod realm, make sure you know what is needed to properly defend your city! There is an easy to follow guide to defending your city that will walk you through step by step.

Don’t forget Team RealTips has Discord and Line where you can continue to get tips and tricks to improve your demigod setup!

I need a hero

He’s gotta be sure

And he’s gotta be larger than life!

HEROES!!!! Your Hero is a very important feature in Game of War. Knowing what Hero to use and how to skill it is essential to your setup. Well, that is unless you are a Hero-less trap but that is a discussion for another article. Today we are going to spend time talking about our three Heroes for the Dragon War Dimension. Also if you love the song I quoted as much as me, here is a YouTube link so you can jam with me as you read.

Dragon War Dimension Heroes

Currently, in the Dragon War Dimension, we have three heroes. Each of these heroes has different skills that you are able to use to make your build stronger. We will take a look at each Hero individually, however, before we do that let’s talk about some basics you need to know when you are setting your heroes up and getting ready to gear up for combat.

The Hero Hall

This may seem basic to some players but for newer players let’s take a look at the Hero Hall. The Hero Hall is where you are able to access your heroes. It is located the left of your Stronghold.

When you enter this building you will see your three heroes.

The Heroes

You will be able to see the level of each hero and which hero is active. If you want to switch to using another hero then you simply need to activate the hero you want to use. For some players, three heroes can feel a bit overwhelming. So we will cover which hero to use and when so you are sure to invest your time, energy, and money into the hero that is right for you.

Hero One

Hero One is the hero that everyone gets. This hero is automatically unlocked in the Dragon War Dimension. Where Hero Two and Three require purchasing an unlock. Hero One goes to level 100 and has some basic skills that are helpful to all players. For this hero, you are able to choose what you want it to look like. You are able to see the options in the second tab of your Hero Hall screen.

Hero

Hero One Cost

Below we have provided a chart of the cost of experience and the medals needed to level up Hero One. We have also provided the power gained at each level.

2 2 4,000 84

8 8 45,000 84
9 9 60,000 319
10 10 80,000 504
Hero One Skills

Now that we have covered the cost and all of that I know what everyone wants to know is how is this Hero Beneficial to me? There are some skills that this Hero has that are unique to it.

  • Economic Skills- This Hero is the only one with Economic skills such as production, upkeep, construction, training, and research. It is very similar to the original Hero in the game.
  • Monster Hunting Skills- DO NOT BE FOOLED! Make sure you are reading what you are skilling. One of the very first skills on this tree is Hero Attack. This is a stat for Monster Hunting so be sure that you do not use points on this unless you need to or love killing monsters.
  • Type Attack and Troop Armor
  • Troop HP
  • March Size Boosts- many leads like using this Hero for the increased March Size. While they may lose some attack stats the debate remains the same as to whether the increased march size outweighs the stats that are lost. Some of this is dependent on how much you have leveled Hero One versus how much you have leveled your other Heroes.

Hero Two

Hero Two was the second Hero to be released. This Hero is the homely looking dude with the red Jason-like mask and no you cannot change what he looks like. This Hero has his own unique set of skills as well. He also goes to Hero 100 and requires medals to unlock certain levels.

Hero Two Costs

Hero Two Costs and power associated with leveling up are listed below!

wdt_ID Hero Level XP Required Power Medals Required
1 2 5,000 84

Hero Two Skills

Hero Two has his own unique set of skills. We will cover some of the most notable ones here. I will also include a screenshot of the in-game blog so that you are able to see some of the max stats you can obtain with this hero.

Hero 2 stats

  • Attack March Speed, Return March Speed, Scout March Speed, and Rally March Speed. If you have a need for speed make sure to check this Hero out.
  • Type Attack.
  • Empire Assault Stats- Currently one of the more common Attack Gears is Dragon War Haunted Assassin Gear Set. This Set also has Empire Assault stats so using Hero 2 can help enhance these stats even further.
  • Rally Attack Stats- If you are big on Rallying this is definitely a stat you will want to look into to give your Rally that extra push.

Hero Three

Hero Three is our most recent hero. This hero is probably the most unique hero we have seen so far. She is the pretty redhead with the horns coming out of her head and just like Hero Two you are unable to change her appearance. In order to open this hero, you must purchase an unlock from the Gold store.

Hero Three Costs

Below you can see the cost and power associated with leveling Hero Three up. While we do not have all data on this Hero we will work on providing it as we gather it and if you are able to provide information feel free to send screenshots to thatcinder on the Line app.

wdt_ID Hero Level XP Required Power Acquired Medals Required
1 2 5,000 84
2 3 5,829 86

8 9 48,560 5,441
9 10 61,797 7,240
10 11 78,643 9,296
Hero Three Skills

Hero Three comes with her own unique set of skills as well. We will provide a screenshot of some of the max stats available for this hero as well.

Hero 3 stats

  • Hospital Capacity- for players that rely on their Hospitals to save their troops this Hero will help to increase the number of beds you have available for your troops by a max of 300%.
  • Troop Defense Bonus- this is a skill that is completely unique to this Hero.
  • Gathering Attack and HP- if you enjoy farming tiles and spend a lot of time tile hitting this Hero is beneficial.
  • Bonus March Slot- This skill is especially useful for players who maintain a low Stronghold Level and need an additional march slot.
  • Empire Defender stats- This is useful for players who are big on the defense side of things.
  • Wonder Stats- Wonder Players be sure to check out this Hero as it is the only one offering Wonder stats.
  • Enemy Troop Attack Debuff- This is one of the only Debuffs offered in the Dragon War Dimension and Hero 3 is the only place you can currently obtain this stat.
  • Troop Attack- This is a good place to get stats for all types of players.
  • March Increases, March Speed, and March Speed Debuff- Whether you want to increase your March Size, speed your March up or slow your attackers March down you can do all of these things with Hero Three.

Which Hero?

We have covered all three heroes and the stats that they offer. However, we are missing something important. One question we see asked a lot is “Which Hero should I use?” Some of this is an easy decision but there is some strategy involved as well.

Leads

Part of the decision is going to be based on which Hero is leveled higher. However, also be sure to grab a friend and run some tests. Is it more beneficial for you to increase your attack stats with Hero Two or to increase your March size with Hero One? This is very dependent on the level of these heroes and will need to be tested on an individual basis.

Wonder Players

Your best hero for Wonder stats is the only hero with Wonder stats, Hero Three.

Traps and Defensive Players

There is a lot of strategy here and as long as you choose a Hero that best enhances your build then there is not a wrong answer. Hero One has good type attack and HP stats that traps can use to enhance their build.

Once you start looking at Hero Two or Three as a defensive player then you may be classified as what is called a spender trap. This is a player who spends for stats so that they can maintain lower troops counts and therefore lower power.

However, many traps like Hero Two for some of the Attack offered that helps to kill off your attacker’s march. Hero three with Attack, Attack Debuff, Defense, and Empire Defender stats is an obvious choice for Traps and Defensive Players. However, remember that your Heroes do come with power increases. So if your goal is to stay low power then you will also want to keep Hero Levels low. So make sure you choose your Hero wisely and build your stats in a way that will best enhance your build. We will discuss more about this in another article.

Which hero have you chosen to use and why? Let us know in the comments.

Rune Guide for Demigod

$

After a long wait, the Runes have now started to rain down on the Demigod realm! Just in the past few weeks there have been five sets released to compliment your gear. We will take a closer look at each rune set so you can determine which rune set is best for you.

The Basics of Runes

I know most players will already know the basics. However, there has been an increase of players returning to the game. The basics are necessary, and sometimes even the regular players can use a refresher course too!

Runes are similar to gems in a few ways. Runes are released in sets of four, and runes are used to enhance stats for your gear. The four runes are Fire, Water, Void, and Earth. Unlike gems, runes are not for every piece of gear. You can only add runes to your weapon. Also similar to gems, the runes are usually released in sets for attack, defense, rally attack, etc.

If you view your runes through the forge, you will view only the basic stats. This is where some players are confused because the blog stats do not match the stats of the rune. Rune research was released a very long time ago.

rune research tree

The runes research tree has research slots that unlock multipliers for each of the four runes. If you are returning to Game of War after a long period of time, make sure that the runes research is complete or you will not be reaching your full stat potential!

Here are the stats of runes when viewed through forge inventory:

rune in forge

And here are the stats of runes after research is completed and is viewed through rune equip screen:

Rune Guide for Your City!

Now we can compare each of the five new rune sets and see where they fit into your build!

Defense Rune Sets

  • Amberlight Rune Set
  • Calcified Rune Set

The Amberlight set is the most recent of the two, so the stats are slightly better. If you do not have the amberlight set just yet, the calcified rune set will work just as well. Each of these sets feature heavier defense compared to other rune sets. The defense is also supported by attack, health, and attack debuff.

Attack and Rally Attack Runes

  • Iridescent Rune Set
  • Brunet Rune Set

The Brunet set is the older of the two sets, however, the stats are slightly higher in some areas. The Iridescent set has empire rally attack and the Brunet runes have the original rally attack. Attack in the Brunet is higher than the Iridescent, 750% compared to 450%. In the Iridescent runes, the empire rally attack is lower than the rally attack in the Brunet set. Also, the rally attack in the Brunets would apply to rallies on the wonder and on empires. The empire rally attack on the iridescents applies when rallying strongholds only. What makes the Iridescent set superior to the Brunet set is the debuffs. Defense Debuff and Health Debuff are both higher in the newer Iridescent set.

Happy New Year! The New Year has begun and with it we are bringing you a new Player Spotlight and this one is a two for one spotlight. We have met some amazing players in the time we have been doing these profiles and that will continue as we meet January’s Players. However, make sure you have taken the chance to get to hear from the past players we have put in the spotlight.

Past Spotlights

Emperor Huckster

The Tiny Fighting Trap

Rogueness

Player Spotlight: WolfofOne001

Player Spotlight: Rage

Player Spotlight: KushQu33n

Player Spotlight: BEllaKira

Player Spotlight: SmotPoker710

This month we are going to get the chance to meet the duo called BeastYNaga. These names should sound familiar as they currently hold the title of Emperor in the Dragon War Dimension. Congratulations to both of you on that well-earned win too!

EmperorBoth of these guys have been playing Game of War for a very long time and are very well versed in the game. Not only are they greats, but they have played with some of the biggest names we have seen in Game of War. Thank you to both of them for taking the time to answer these questions and allow the community to get to know them better. We were excited ourselves to see the stories these guys would have to tell.

Meet Naga and BeastYBoyz

Throughout this Player Spotlight, you will see us switching back and forth between these guys and their answers. These guys are greats of their own accord but together they are a force to be reckoned with! Are you ready to meet your current Dragon Emperor?

Team

We asked the guys to let us know their teams. They have a ton of alliances that support them aside from just the alliance they are in currently.

=LH= & all alliances that support us ( gSa,D:V ,*SnS,*IWG,xBoB,#Wi5, PigZ, TOG , N0==)

Getting Started

Naga

We will Kick things off with Naga. Naga originally started in Kingdom 20 in the Demigod Dimension (before it was the Demigod Dimension). He has been playing Game of War for more than 5 years, that is some serious dedication!

During his time playing he has always played as a Rally Lead. He has spent time playing Super Wonder as a Lead in a blocker alliance and in a main alliance. During this time he has seen 14 Super Wonder victories in a row while supporting D:V teams and StayAlive77. Naga has played with some of the best people in the game who have become real-life friends.

BeastYBoyz

BeastYBoyz has an impressive history himself. He has been playing for over five years as well. He started fighting originally with a Stronghold 15 account with the first T3 in game. I am sure these guys with the long history they have shown in Game of War have some epic stories that they could continue to share!

However, BeastYBoyz will tell you that his real crowning achievement through all of these years is the team behind him who stand by his side and the friendships that have come out of that.

Why do they Play?

Each of our people we have talked to all have their own reason for playing. These guys are no different. However, what has kept them around for more than five years? For these guys, it comes down to the stress relief, the fun, and the people.

To kill the stress from real life and this game is really fun …
~Naga

FUN – and meeting all that crazy ones in that game

~BeastYBoyz

What are you Wearing?

The clothes make the man right? With these two what do their gear choices say about them?

Naga’s gear screams wonder player!

Wearing regular gear for wonder attack and defense.

~Naga

BeastYBoyz choice screams that he has a bit of a sense of humor!

~BeastYBoyz

Best Memories

I am sure we could write a book with the memories that these guys have from the years that they have spent playing the game. However, I asked them to share some of their best memories because we do not have enough space here for a whole book!

Naga’s best memories have come from playing Super Wonder.

My best memories are playing SW and trying to gain upper hand. Have so many memories in demigod when SW is 3 days. We used to have a line call running for 3 days.

~Naga

BeastYBoyz also has had some of his best memories come from playing Super Wonder.

Fights during an SW, when I was in a hotel in Switzerland and we had to fight the 11th SW together with Stayalive77 one of my marches where just hitting the SW, I didn’t realize if I switched or not, then my internet connection broke … 15 minutes later (it felt like a light year), I could login again and saw that I caught Ctesse with 1 Mil messages in my mailbox …

~BeastYBoyz

 Memories

BeastYBoyz shared some screenshots from his Instagram account with us. We are excited to share these with you guys as well. Some of these images are from days that some players were not even around and other players remember fondly when Carol May publishes her Time Capsule pieces.

Now that is a lot of heroes! Everyone is always on the lookout for heroes to capture but 500 is a huge number! I would have loved to see all those heroes go running in person. By the stronghold levels we can see sitting around the Wonder I can tell that this was early in the Game of War days.

Beastyboyz

Guys check out those tags on this one. Frostlord Gear! I remember this gear and it has been a minute since it was relevant. This zeroing party also looks like it would have been a blast.

Beastyboyz

These guys have some great memories of their Game of War days and we love BeastYBoyz shares from his Instagram account. They have played with so many Game of War greats and they are Game of War greats themselves!

Thoughts on the Dragon War Dimension versus the Demigod Dimension

These guys have literally been around since the beginning of the game. With their time in the game, we definitely wanted to hear some of their thoughts on the Dragon War Dimension versus the Demigod Dimension. These guys definitely have a preference for the Dragon War Dimension.

Quit demigod when the game became boring with daily releases and when most of my friends have quit. I enjoy playing Dragon Dimension again as it’s like the old school GOW. Hope MZ does not ruin the fun part of this game again by releasing new stuff every day.

~Naga

Demi is the most stupid way to play GOW that was a reason for me to stop like thousand others.

~BeastYBoyz

Advice to Players

BeastYBoyz had some great advice to players that he shared with us and we hope that you appreciate it as well.

Decide what u wanna be and fight for that if you wanna be a trap be a trap… in that game sometimes u have to lose to win…
Most fun in that game will ever be the SW here u can show the strength of your team. Only good teammates will bring success.

~BeastYBoyz

One thing in the game that is exciting to you right now

BeastYBoyz also shared with us what is most exciting in the game right now to him. He is excited to see that it is once again becoming a great strategy game!

it became again a great strategy game

~BeastYBoyz

Reigning Emperor

With tons of experience in Super Wonder we were curious, How is it different preparing for the Dragon War Dimension Super Wonder then it was preparing for old-school Super Wonder? Both Naga and BeastYBoyz gave some amazing answers to that question.  These guys did not see much difference in the Dragon War Super Wonder and Super Wonder of old.

Preparing for dragon is almost same as preparing for GOW in old days except that we still don’t have many big players competing for SW,but I am sure as the game evolves many more will start competing for SW in Dragon Dimension. In Old GOW the SW revolves around two major teams (D:V & One ) but it’s not the case in Dragon Dimension.

~Naga

In the first years, you had hundreds of allies running for it … but i think it will be the same here sooner than later.

~BeastYBoyz

Wrapping it up

We have said over and over again how great these guys are but we want to say it again! They are great players and great people with some fun senses of humor. We really enjoyed getting to know them and hope that you enjoyed it as well! We are excited to continue to bring all of you Player Spotlights from different players in the community. We know that there are unique stories all over Game of War and want to hear them!

Check in with us! Whose Game of War Story would you like to see here next? Comment Below and let us know.

How to use Demigod Reward Research to Enhance Your Account

$
0
0

Research has always been the difference between a good account and a great account.  New Devout Rewards Research is now available, and often its the little differences that make the most noticeable differences. These reward researches can help every account have an edge, no matter if you are a trap or a filler or a lead.

The How, What, and Where of Rewards Research

Rewards Research are researches that are usually easy to complete and support the main stats in the game. If the new Devout Rewards research stays on track, you can earn the materials needed to complete the research from events, crosslinked events, and from Athena gifts.

The most recent rewards research is found under the Demigods Rewards Research tab. However, many of us forget that there are more rewards research under the Basic research tab as well. There are seven more Demigod rewards research that are under that tab.

Econ Rewards Research

These econ researches help with the speed up efficiencies and cost reductions for researches. The only other reward researches that are econ related are found under the basic research tab. The very first Demigods Athenas Research, and also the Advanced Demigod Athenas Research, are the only other ones to have econ related researches.

  • 2000% Combat Research Cost Reduction
  • 2000% Defense Research Cost Reduction
  • 2000% Combat Research Speed Up Efficiency
  • 2000% Defense Research Speed Up Efficiency

March and Rally Size Increases

These reward researches are vital for both leads and fillers. Since there are only ten slots available for rallies right now, you want to make sure that you have the bihggest march size possible. It also goes without saying that leads should do any research that increases their rally size.

  • + 1million Troop March SIze
  • + 500K Trap March Size
  • + 500K Mythic March Size
  • + 200K Troop Rally Size
  • + 100K Trap Rally Size
  • + 100K Mythic Rally Size

Combat Stats

These rewards researches that are combat stats are made to enhance the main stats that you get from research and gear and hero. Although these are not enough on their own to rely on, they are helpful for players that maybe dont spend as much, or for larger accounts that are looking for that extra edge. If you need help deciding which research to start first,Team RealTips has an article that you can check out to see which stats are best to enhance your gear, research, and hero.

Debuff Reward Research

  • 500% attack debuff
  • 500% defense debuff
  • 500% health debuff

In case anyone did not already know, or maybe needs reminding, debuffs remove a portion of the opponents stat. So for example, if the opponent has 2K attack and you have 500 attack debuff, then the opponents total attack is reduced down to 1,500 attack.

Basic Stat Reward Research

  • 750% Troop Attack
  • 1000% Troop Defense
  • 500% Troop Health

Dont See the Stats You Wanted??

Dont forget that there are fourteen total rewards researches!! The stats mentioned in this article are only the new Devout Rewards Research. Previous Reward Researches have covered a wide variety of stats for all players. Other researches have included wonder stats, rally attack and health, individual stats, dragon war deminsion stats, more march increases, and of course the basic combat and debuff stats. In conclusion, there is something out there for everyone!

How to Dominate Kill Events in the Dragon War Dimension Part 2

$
0

How to Build your Stats in the Dragon War Dimension Part 1 The Foundation

When building your account you need to know how to build and why. If you go looking for this critical information you will find it. There is a ton of info to be found out in the community. There are players that can be great teachers, however, there are also some people out there with not so great advice.

When asking a question such as, “What gear should I use? What research should I focus on?” The answer needs to be driven by a reason. It is simple to give an easy blanket statement, such as Sentinel is the best defense gear. However, it is quite a different thing to know why you are building your stats the way you are and when it is appropriate to use certain stats. The goal of this series will be to teach you not only what different stats are but how they are important to you as a player.

In addition, having this knowledge as a tool underneath your belt will help you ultimately know where you need to prioritize your purchases. Which in the end saves you money so you can get more packs down the road.

Stats Defined

There are numerous stats in Game of War. Sometimes players are not quite sure what they mean. So before we kick off this article we want to take some time to familiarize all of you with the stats we see in the Dragon War Dimension, what they are for and how to use them.

The Dragon War Dimension Stat Dictionary

The stats listed below are not all-inclusive. We did not include stats for Gathering, Economics, March Size, March Speed, etc. What you see below mainly encompasses Combat Skills as that is what we will spend the most time looking at over the course of these articles.

wdt_ID Terminology Definition What does it do?
1 Troop Attack Increases the Attack of your Troops This stat functions in a couple of different ways. As a Lead player, it allows you the ability to kill off more of your targets troops. As a defending player, it allows you to kill off more of your incoming attacker's march.
2 Troop Defense Increases the Defense of your Troops. While Attack allows the opportunity to kill off more troops from the opposing player, defense, helps to decrease your losses.
3 Troop Health / Troop HP Increases the HP of all Troops Health is Wheaties for your troops. If you look at the icon in the game it shows an arm with a muscle. Health strengthens your troops so they can endure in the battle.
4 Hero Attack Increase's your Hero's Attack against a Monster. Note!! Hero attack is for monsters not against troops or other players.
5 Infantry Attack
Cavalry Attack
Ranged Attack
Seige Attack
Increases the Attack of your Infantry Troops
Increases the Attack of your Cavalry Troops
Increases the Attack of your Ranged Troops
Increases the Attack of your Seige Troops
This is a type stat and dependent on the one you choose will only increase the attack of your Troops of that Type.
6 Type Armor Increases the Armor of your Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry Troops. Armor is a Defense stat. This stat works for Infantry, Cavalry, and Ranged troops.
7 Type Attack Increases the Attack of your Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry Troops Another Type stat that increases the Attack for your three troop types, Infantry, Cavalry, and Ranged.
8 Empire Assault Armor Provides an Armor Bonus for all Troop Types when attacking an enemy Empire. This stat is only useful when attacking other Strongholds. While Armor is a defensive stat this specific type protects the troops of the attacker when they are hitting other players Strongholds.
9 Empire Assault HP Provides an HP Bonus for all Troop Types when attacking an enemy Empire. This stat is for attacking other Strongholds only! This provides Health for the attacker's troops.
10 Empire Assault Attack Provides an Attack Bonus for all Troop Types when attacking an enemy Empire. This is once again for Attacking other Strongholds only. This provides attack stats for Attackers.

Stats that are important for Traps

With this list of stats, there are a few that are very important for Traps. How to prioritize and pick the stats you need as an individual will be covered in a future article. however, we did want to take a moment to look at the stats that are the most important for Traps to be aware of when they are building.

  • Attack
  • Defense
  • Health
  • Enemy Attack Debuff
  • Empire Defender Defense
  • Empire Defender HP
  • Empire Defender Attack

Where to get these stats and how to know which ones to prioritize will be further discussed later.

Stats that are important for Fillers

For Fillers, they are going to focus on the same stats as traps. When you are filling for rallies or Wonder one of your priorities is ensuring that you consider your own safety as well. You will not be able to fill Rallies if you are too busy trying not to burn and you get zeroed. However, players that mainly identify as Fillers will also want to be sure to focus in on march size stats as well.

Stats that are important for Leads

Next up, Leads. We know you want to burn everything! However, while you are out burning everything be sure to focus on your own safety as well. Unless you are one of the leads that really dislikes being hit then you can always flip to Hero-less trap when you inevitably lose your Hero at some point.

However, when we shift our focus to just the Lead aspect the following are the stats we will focus in on.

  • Attack
  • Health
  • Armor Piercing
  • Empire Assault Attack
  • Empire Assault Armor
  • Empire Assault HP
  • Rally March Size

Stats that are important for Wonder Players

Last but not least our Wonder players. More power to you my friends for having the patience to hold that Wonder! While some of the stats you will want to focus on here are obvious once again do not forget that for a large portion of time your Hero is going to be outside of your Stronghold. So be sure that you have a solid Hero-less set up.

  • Attack
  • Health
  • March Size
  • Wonder Strike Troop Attack
  • Wonder Defender Troop Attack
  • Wonder Troop Health
  • Wonder Troop Attack

Build Your Stats

Some of the above may seem basic and obvious. However, recall in this article we are simply building the framework for our future articles. We will cover more in-depth in following articles on how to prioritize these stats and the different places you are able to get them from. The different places we will be looking for these stats are:

  • Boost Hall
  • Research
  • Hero
  • Gear
  • Gems
  • Banners
  • Buildings

We will also consider where to prioritize first. For example, should you work towards getting the Arbiter Set Bonus first or opening up the Attack Boosts in the Boost Hall first as a trap? Should you focus on building your attack stats first or your march size first as a lead? These are all questions that are very important when deciding where to buy and where to build first.

However, we also want to be sure that in the process of making this information available to you that you get your questions answered as well.

So let us know in the comments below, what questions do you have on how to build your stats? We will be sure to answer them in our upcoming articles!

Hero Release Program: How to Make Your Kingdom Stronger

$

0

The Hero Release Program is a controversial topic among all Game of War players. Today we will look at the benefits of this program and talk and how it essentially makes a kingdom stronger for kill events.

CRR – History and Meaning

CRR stands for chop, ransom, or release. This initially started on the demi side back when cores were extremely costly and hemlocks were scarce. The basic idea is that when a hero is capped, you then execute, set a ransom, or release the hero immediately. This is put in to practice outside of kill events, either kingdom-wide or between a group of alliances.

Get the Bad Side Out of the Way

There is only one real argument against a hero release program. Players will tell you that they spend their own money, and they should not be told how to play their game.  Each person has to decide if they want to go along with the hero release program themselves, but these next few points make a good argument.

How Does the Hero Release Program Affect You?

While at first it seems like it is just a win for the Rally Leads, it is actually beneficial for all players

Savvy Traps

Well built traps are some of the biggest point scorers in a kill event. With each release, traps need to consistently test and adjust their setups. However, traps that hold heroes are basically blacklisted and will not be hit by leads in the kingdom. Traps that are hit continuously between kill events are more prepared and give fewer points away. By participating in the hero release program, leads will love hitting your trap knowing they won’t have to waste hemlock. This results in a trap having the experience of being hit by a variety of different rally leads. Those traps will be the stars of the show for the next kill event!

Experienced Leads

Everyone knows that the dragon is still yet to be completely figured out. Rally leads especially are still learning the pros and cons of using a dragon in a rally or solo. The only way for a lead to know their limit is to constantly test! Rally leads need experience hitting a wide number of targets with different power levels, hero levels, gear, and VIP. The last thing a lead wants to happen is to get capped in a kill event. This loses points for all the fillers and the alliance as a whole. When leads get on board in the hero release program they gain the practice and experience in picking better targets.

The Bottom Line

The hero release program has more pros than cons. Not only does it improve both leads and traps, but it will attract more active players. Players from other kingdoms will go where the action is. With the ancient advanced ports in play now, many players will be looking to go where there is a high rate of activity. In kingdoms where traps hold heroes for three days and Leads stop hitting targets, the activity declines and the kingdom slowly dies. These kingdoms become popular in kill events for all the wrong reasons. Rally teams will port in and zero unprepared traps. Those inexperienced leads will then hit those well-built traps and lose their heroes. Thus killing the kingdom that did not promote growth with a hero release program.

How to Start a Hero Release Program in Your Kingdom

The first thing I did in my kingdom was reach out to other leaders in the bigger alliances. Some weren’t familiar with the idea and how it worked. If that is the case, feel free to direct those players to this article! Once you have an agreement in place, you want to inform the alliances involved what the hero release program is and what the consequences are if you choose not to participate. It is easier to have an in-game chat or a Line room with these other members so that it is easy to alert another player if you need a hero released. It is also smart to have a log buddy in case you cap a hero while you are asleep. As other alliances catch on and join in, sit back and watch the activity increase and enjoy the fun!

Do You Have Any Ideas?

If you have recently started a hero release program in your kingdom, or have any tips on how to successfully start and continue the program, join in the community discussion! We would love to hear your ideas! Start the talk on Discord or Line, or you can comment below the article.

Last week we had the opportunity to lay the foundation for stats and discuss what different stats do and what is important for different types of players. This week we will continue our series with Traps and Fillers and a discussion of how to prioritize stats for these different players.

If you did miss last week’s article though be sure you step back and read that first so the Foundation is laid out well for you.

How to Build Your Stats in the Dragon War Dimension Part 1 The Foundation

Dragon War Dimension Stats Dictionary

Just as a reminder and reference we will include our table of terms and definitions here as well.

wdt_ID Terminology Definition What does it do?
1 Troop Attack Increases the Attack of your Troops This stat functions in a couple of different ways. As a Lead player, it allows you the ability to kill off more of your targets troops. As a defending player, it allows you to kill off more of your incoming attacker's march.

Stat Focus

For Traps and Fillers, we talked about different stats that you will want to focus in on. These included the following:

  • Attack
  • Empire Defender Attack
  • Defense
  • Empire Defender Defense
  • Health
  • Empire Defender HP
  • Enemy Attack Debuff

For Fillers, we will also add in march size due to the fact that they will be filling rallies and reining wonders and bigger marches will help them do so more effectively. However, recall that in order to fill you must first ensure your safety when doing so. Therefore, knowing how to set up safely is a huge priority for these players as well.

Stat Priorities

When we are looking at building a trap there are three stats that we want to prioritize Attack, Health, and Defense. Each of these stats has their own function and is important in building a strong trap account. Knowing how to prioritize these stats and when to add more of different stats is very important.

We will take a look at each of these stats individually and where you are able to get them. We will also look at how to know what stat you need to increase based on the hits that you are taking.

Attack

The first stat we will start with is Attack. To many, this may seem counter-intuitive. As traps, our first thought is defense, however, in order to be able to cap you need a certain amount of attack. Attack is the stat that allows some players to cap with much lower troop counts than other players.

When looking at a report a player that is not able to kill off all of their attackers march whether they win or not needs more attack. This can be addressed through stats or troops. However, addressing it through stats allows you to maintain a smaller build versus having to continually add troops and large amounts of power.

Attack Versus Defense

In the reports below we took a closer look at Attack versus Defense. In the Image, we can see that the first hit the defender was unable to cap the lead player. However, for the next hit, the defender swapped out a piece of Sentinel Gear for a piece of Arbiter Gear.

This allowed the defender to cap the attacker with only a slight increase in losses by simply adjusting their stats.

Attack Versus Defense

Where do I find Attack Stats?

Now that we know what a report looks like and when we need more attack it is important to know where you can find these stats and how to prioritize them. Knowing where you can get the most attack when you need it is important so you are able to prioritize your purchases.

Many times players ask questions such as “Is the Boost Hall Worth it?” The Boost Hall is definitely worth it, however, knowing where to prioritize it is important.

Research

The easiest stats to get for Attack are in research. There are several trees you can obtain different attack stats from. We will list these below, however, before we do so there are some things to consider with Research.

  1. Some Research such as the Crafting Research require special scrolls to complete
  2. Research will add power to your setup so if you like playing small keep an eye on the power increases and determine whether or not this is something that is worth it
  3. Different Researches only open at a certain Stronghold Level, therefore, you may be prevented from getting some of the max stats due to your Stronghold level.
Rewards Research

In The Dragon War Dimension rewards research you are able to get type attack stats, however, keep in mind the amount is small.

In the Seeker’s Rewards Research you can get Empire Defender Attack at a max of 150%. This is a good increase. You are also able to to get Troop Attack with the hero at a max of 150% from this research as well (Keep in mind this stat only applies when Hero is home).

The nice thing about this research is that it does not add any power to your setup. This is research that all accounts definitely want to work on completing as they are able to do so.

Draconic Combat Research

This new research has a wealth of stats to help with your setup. In looking at Attack specifically in the first part of the tree we see Empire Defender Attack with a max of 600%. In the second part of the tree, you are able to find Troop Attack with the  hero (recall that your Hero must be present for these stats to apply) at a max of 300%.

Crafting Research

Crafting Research is important as you are able to access it as it increases the strength of your gear and opens the fourth gem slot for players. While it does not have “Attack-specific,” research it is important in strengthening your stats due to what it does have available. For more information about Crafting Research be sure to check out our article discussing it.

Hero Research

Hero Research further into the research provides a max of 65% Troop Attack.

Combat Research

This Research provides Troop Attack at a max of 136%. You are also able to get Type Attack from this tree.

Wall Traps Research

Here you are able to obtain Empire Defender Attack, at a max of 220%.

Gear and Set Bonuses

Gear and set bonuses are other places you can get these stats from. Athena’s Armory is going to be important to have unlocked. When you obtain Level 6 sets of gear (or lower depending on if you level up your armory, however, be aware there is a power increase with leveling this building) you receive a set bonus that applies even if the gear is not equipped.

There are three sets of gear that we will consider here.

  • Arbiter’s gear set- this gear set provides attack stats that can be equipped to your hero but it also provides a set bonus of 75% Troop Attack. Many players use this gear set or a mix of this gear set to help defend.
  • Beast Master’s gear set- This gear provides a set bonus of 32% Troop Attack.
  • Dragon War Monster Slayer Set- This gear set provides a set bonus of 100% Troop Attack.
Hero

Hero skills are another place where you can find Attack Stats.

  • Hero 1- Provides Type Attack Stats.
  • Hero 2- Also provides Type Attack Stats.
  • Hero 3- Has Troop Attack and Empire Defender Attack.

While each of these heroes provides different attack stats make sure you remain aware of the current sentiment that is constantly changing in regards to these heroes. While a lot of traps prefer Hero 3 due to the skills provided many leads are cautious in hitting accounts using this hero.

Boost Hall

The Boost Hall contains a good amount of Attack. If you are debating between purchasing a gear pack or a Boost Hall Pack to increase your Attack stats then we would recommend going with Boost Hall first. There are three different sets of gear that provide set bonuses for Troop Attack. However, getting all of these gear chests in one pack is unlikely.

In the Boost Hall, you can increase not only your Type Attack but your Troop Attack. You can get a max of 120% Attack in the Boost Hall and a max of 350% of each Type Attack in the Boost Hall. This is a great place to get those Attack stats.

VIP

VIP is a huge place for Attack. At lower levels, the increase is smaller but as you get closer to max VIP there are huge Attack Boosts. Our caution with this feature is that it is a visible stat. In that people can see what your VIP is. Leads may be more unwilling to hit players with higher VIP and VIP is a costly feature. So be sure to keep an eye on leads sentiment regarding VIP and when leveling up make sure that the stat increase is worth the level up.

Gems, Altar, Boosts, and Banners

All of these are great places to get little boosts in your Attack stats. For more information on which of these will help you the most with your attack stats be sure to check out, The Little Things. One note on Altar, be aware that a dirty graveyard can keep you from getting hit at times.

Defense

Next up is Defense. Defense acts as a shield to our troops. This stat allows you to decrease the losses that you are taking so that you protect your troops and are not losing more then your attacker is. If you are burning then whether or not you kill off your Attacker’s march you will not cap.

This is one of the reasons that traps need such a balance of stats. Too much of one and not enough of another can be detrimental. If you are killing your Attacker’s march off but still losing then you want to look at adding more Health or Defense into your build. We will go more in-depth on Health later.

Defense Versus Attack

Here is an example of where the defender was able to kill off the Attacker’s March but was unable to cap. However, in the second report by switching from a mixed gear set to full Sentinel’s Gear (adding more defense) the defender was able to still kill off the march and cap the Attacker.

Defense Versus Attack

Where do I find Defense Stats?

Well, my friends, that is a topic for next week! Next week we will continue this series with a closer look on where to find Defense Stats and take a closer look at Health. You will not want to miss that information.

In the meantime, if you have questions that you would like us to address in this series make sure you post them in the comments!

GoW Time Capsule: Rivalries

Rivalries are a huge part of Game of War. They can motivate you, or they can drive you crazy. Rivalries can lead to friendships or they can form mortal enemies. Either way, the game would not be the same if there wasn’t someone that you were constantly trying to outperform. Today we will take a walk down memory lane and read about some big Game of War Rivalries.

Kingdom Chat Rivalries

The Bad Guy in KC…..

We all know those guys, the ones that are the loudest and most obnoxious in kingdom chat. They spam the chat and spread rumors, or they constantly just trying to poke at people and get a reaction. Everyone wants to find the player making a scene and burn him!

Back in the days of a protected kingdom (308 maybe Anethia or something, pretty sure it started with an A, whatever kingdom it was) there was a nerd (myself) who decided “Hey, I’ll take these free tokens on MX trial bike and download this GoW app and take my account to level 5 sure. Hey, I can chat to other people that are real while I do this, that’s not so bad! What’s $20 for a pack?” Enter my arch rival SmileyFace!!! After my fist zero I was in rage spend mode. SmileyFace was one of those guys that spammed KC constantly with really annoying things. Come to find out (through unconfirmed rumors) he was a dentist, the most abhorant of professional bad guys. He was a Sh16 trap, but didn’t take attacking a poor little SH 11 and zeroing it too seriously. However in the next couple days it went from Sh11 to Sh21, and proceeded to scout the kingdom every day watching for SmileyFace’s shield. Finally, his shield dropped! After his fifth or sixth time being zeroed he eventually gave up the game, and my rivalry was tragically over. Not really a cool story, but early game enemies were the bomb. He was a pretty hated figure in the kingdom and so it was easy to get people to help me scout for him .
-(R Us) VTown (at that time)

… and The Fun Friends in KC

This is not a normal rivalry about stats etc. It’s about how much we can troll each other in kingdom chats Current r5 Kara, and semi retired Cxi/Iwg former r5 Meesh, and myself, still today will tease each other in open KC. It started when Cxi member Arend put on Cxi wall “happy birthday Meesh.” Everyone in her alliance then sent her mail and pm while she was sleeping, blowing up her phone. She woke up thinking she was getting zeroed. So I took this idea and  decided to put it on every alliance wall in the kingdom! I wrote that it was her birthday and please continue to one troop and send mail showing her your love. So her and Kara decided to find me “life partners” for fun.  We still do this to date. Meesh is now 136 years old and I still haven’t been sold. It’s that kind of fun that keeps our alliance still going strong.

-daddyice (IWG)

The New Player Returns!

The one mistake everyone makes is underestimating new players. Its easy to target players that are inexperienced. However, those new guys will remember who picked on them, and a rivalry is born! The fun part is when the revenge unfolds!

When I first started the game in K476 I though the game was pretty much what happens in my own neighborhood. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as th wonder area or how to browse the kingdom map. I built about 100,000 T2 troops and started attacking account at around me. I joined an alliance of someone I saw in KC talking about raiding hives. We started to port to hives and burn hives. One day we had a whole hive on fire and I was holding ten heroes. Suddenly someone said “SnakeEater is here, shield”. I tied to shield but the held heroes prevented me so I started releasing my heroes as my screen went red. One hit zero from a player with T4 troops. My hero was gone. I was so angry that I started complaining about the managers that would “allow” such senseless game play. “People will just quit”. “Why allow someone to keep your hero.” My alliance was amused with my anger. “Bro chill. It is part of the game.” The player from an alliance called Quiet Professionals (QP) didn’t release my hero for three days. I seethed. Three days later I rage spent one thousand dollars and got T3 plus a couple of Fire Age Infantry pieces (remember blue flames?). I changed my name to QP Hunter and started porting to QP players, unshielding, zeroing them and then shielding. I taunted the player that zeroed me in KC.The player was livid and started burning every player in our alliance that was not shielded. My alliance leader thought the whole thing was funny. After two weeks of this, the big bad player went to my leader and negotiated an end to my vendetta. I changed my name to Hunter. I left that alliance and joined a new one where I met a player named Fury. He taught me how to use barracks and relics to bulk train T4 troops. We had amazing packs that gave 60 one day speeds and maybe enough materials for an epic blue flame! Anyway, within a month I had T4’s, and had won the wonder in a rally for the first time. During one wonder battle we captured the hero of that player who zeroed me when he soloed the wonder. Immediately pulled my hero from the wonder and set a rally on him. We burned him. He had never been burned before. I was so happy that day. A true hate was born that day. People from that kingdom still talk about our rivalry to this day. Yes, anger and revenge can get you hooked on this game. Today I enjoy rivalries still. It creates interest and focus and stories that make teammates laugh and joke.

-FuriousNoob (D:V:)

FuriousNoob Rivalries

The Beginning of a Rivalry

Some rivalries have gone on for so long that no one can remember what caused the fight to begin with.  However, some players can remember the beginning of a good rival like it was yesterday.

It was the good ol’ days, several years ago. Rivalries ran deep as personal vendettas and competitive alliances dominated the gameplay. In what was one of the greatest rivalries of the time, our alliance opposed PWN whom had controlled the wonder and had most of the bigger players from the start of the kingdom. Led by Nem and Worx, they played a very aggressive style and had no regard for how many troops they lost. This rivalry came to a head one day when one of our larger players, MERICA, capped a Worx rally. What followed was by far one of the most fun and intense few hours of my gow experience. Driven by his hatred of MERICA, and his anger at losing his hero, he ordered rally after rally on MERICA. First 5, then 10, then 15 heroes he captured, crafting cores on the fly between hits, almost our entire alliance were either sending resources for him to train troops, or counter rallying their heroless leads. After a short time, MERICA ported to the forest, where he proceeded to cap another 10 heroes. Anyone and everyone in PWN was leading, regardless of research levels or maxed account. It wasn’t until he had a solid 25 heroes capped that he finally ported out and shielded. In the end, no one alliance truly won this engagement. But it was the first major battle of many great battles between us, with each one doing nothing but increasing the animosity between us.

Kingdom Wide Rivalries

One player, or one alliance, sometimes just isn’t enough. Whole kingdoms like to get in on the rivalry action!

Well, I came into game of war in k418 Sachi, having no idea that I would enjoy the game enough to continue my rise in the game. I had no clue what I would do. The term “trap” or “lead” to me didn’t have meaning to me until late 2015 as my alliance *aB an my self woke up to our hive completely destroyed. Drawing us into our first rivalry, aoX an M4RS. It was a two vs the kingdom rivalry. We would rebuild, they would zero. I got tired of shields an decided that I would get them for always burning our members. Long story short. I went on to cap most of our kingdoms most hated/agitating players. Great players mind you. aoX 868WAR, VI JOKER VI, M4RS x Bish, DA RILLA. 868 was by far the most one on one rivalry I’ve had. Constantly coming at me with new research an cores. The constant going ons between aoX, M4RS an the kingdom, and 868, and myself, kept the game alive and fresh. Ultimately leading me to a dragon realm where I came back with a whole new landscape to find new rivalry an adventure.

Rivalries Can Turn In To Friendships

Friendly competition is the most fun! Going head to head against your friend can really have amazing results. The best part is the relationships you build with others in the game.

So many many rivalries through the years, between players and alliances, most were not friendly ones. Those are easy to talk about. We would stalk that  player and if we couldn’t burn you that night, we would keep trying every release until we succeeded. Our bookmarks were full of those targets.
But my favorite one is when I was in Fml and then W@r. I had become friends with most of the Cxi players then, and most of them were in my contact list. We would pick on each other about our kills and would try to beat each other on kvk events. We wouldn’t sleep during the kvk weekends just so we could beat the other alliance. 458 was full of great alliances that did this. It is why the kingdom never lost a merge event. Regardless, this rivalry brought me to become great friends with Meesh from Cxi, and now Iwg. We still have our rivalry to this day, but it’s all fun and games. We both were lucky enough to have our members that had the same drive to burn everything, and we still do today. If the game didn’t have rivalries it would have died out years ago. It’s good to still see people out there trying to be the best for bragging rights.

I’ve been playing GOW since the age of sh21 days. I began my journey in 492 Maccabee. This kingdom was the most agrumental place I’ve ever been in. Back then, a Russian Alliance, TT, was the team to beat at the wonder. They were full of huge spenders and there wasn’t alot of ways to compete without spending. I’ve always gone by XxKaraXxx of some type. I started in the alliance GM until 492 lost merge wars to 587. Then I joined Viking Lords (VL) and spent the majority of time there battling with a great r5 named Palmsy. As with most of the older alliances, we lost members from the game. I was recruited by the r5s of Cxi, DaddyIce and Meesh, and spent the rest of my time there. We are now IWG and I am r5. We are a team that merged in a matter of 2 hrs one Friday night. We love rivalries and try our best to dominate the leaderboards. I am blessed to have such a great team. I’m humbled daily on the bonds that have been created here in GOW.

One Player VS the Whole Game

Everyone knows who Ctess is in Game of War. In a way, she has become everyone’s idea of a rival. Either they want to have an account as good as hers, or they bash her and hate her because she is so well known. There is one day, in everyone’s memory, that she definitely decided to have a little fun of her own.

I was king of 667, and all of ofux surrounded the wonder as a display of power. It was our forest and we were untouchable. Well a big drop happened that night, and when Ctess realized what had dropped she went hunting for kings. One by one my entire alliance was solo zeroed out of the wonder while we slept. Most of whom never came back to the game.

Rivalries That Push You to Be Better

Have you ever been so mad that you swore you would get revenge one day?? Have you ever been so embarrassed that you promised yourself to build an account so big that you could easily burn an arch nemesis?? Yes, of course, you have, because we all have had the same feelings!!

Man I’ve had a lot of rivalries. If I had to pick one worthy of mentioning, it would have to be with Hitsta of DG. I started late in 667 and the bigs were already, well, big. I joined an alliance and starting growing my little wood stronghold. I soon found myself bigger than everyone in my tags. I logged on one day and the r5 left the alliance and made me the leader without saying a word. All I knew was I was “so cool” because I was r5 (of some farm alliance). I see some trash talk going on in KC, so I decide to join in. I soon find myself challenging the king of the kingdom (open mouth, insert foot) to a battle. I was so new to the game, I thought I was winning because he could only wound my troops, and he couldn’t get my hero. (didnt realize he couldnt cap wood walls) So, of course I go back to KC for some quality trash talk. I wind up walking away with my tail tucked between my legs, and a full education on just how bad I had been beaten. Our rivalry changed everything for me. I made it my mission to dissect and learn everything I possibly could about the game, just so one day I could cap and burn him all in one beautiful motion. That day eventually came and it was certainly as spectacular as I had hoped it would be! But, without Hitsta being an jerk in KC, I’d have never pushed myself to be the player I am today. Hits, if you happen to read this, go $!@* yourself, bro.

Watching a Legend in Action

There is no question that Stay Alive is considered to be one of the most liked, and most feared, players in this game. Almost anyone today would name Stay Alive as a true legend in the game. Trying to go against him was certainly a feat, and a feat many players aimed to overcome.

My most memorable first kvk moments was against DV when StayAlive played. My home kingdom was 464, we were known for having a strong kingdom, but playing against StayAlives kingdom posted its difficulties. Therefore, it was one of the most exciting kvk I’ve ever played in. I think I was about 1.5b in power and at the time. That power was really big, but of course StayAlive was much bigger. Due to my account possibly being the biggest in my alliance at the time and was loaded with cores, it was the main rally leading account throughout that kvk. I presumed StayAlive got tired of us burning his members and he wanted to rally me because it seemed we were the only ones fighting back against DV. With his power and size, there was definitely no way I would let him hit me. He was destroying every SH he set his eyes on, and I was still learning the game at that time. He was burning bigger players, and no way I wanted any part of that. So, I pretty much spent the rest of kvk running away from him. When we found a target, we would try to set fast, hit and port out. It was fun and a learning experience to see one of the top players of Game of War rally and soloing targets that most wouldn’t even think about touching.

Rivals Are Not Necessary for All

I know that there’s rivalry on the game. It seems only natural in a game full of ego and competition like this. But personally I’ve never experienced one. For me this game is an escape from real life’s crap and drama, so I see no point in creating it here. I’m a competitive person and always strive to be better without the need of a “good rivalry” to give me a push.
