A Review of the Current Max Stats in Game of War: Dragon Dimension

As you can see from the first part of this series, the max stats available in the game have grown considerably in the past year.  While this is true of the stats available from research and buildings, it is especially true when it comes to the stats that we can play around with.  What do I mean by this?  There are a number of features in the game that are customizable depending on what a player wants to do.  Certain banners provide Empire Defender stats while other banners provide Debuffs or Type stats.  Dragons can be skilled in such a way that certain stats receive priority over other stats.  The same is true of Hero skills.  An intrepid player, one who knows his or her account and the interplay of the available stats, can adjust those items to make their account stronger than a player who just spends and pushes buttons (you know who you guys are).  That is what Part 2 of this series is all about!

The second part of this series will analyze the stats that are somewhat subject to choice, such as Banners, Monsters, Heroes, Gear, the Sawduster, the Pantheon, and similar features to round out all of the stats available in your Stronghold. The third part of this series will delve deeper into the stats to explain how they impact whether you win or lose in a battle against another player.

*  Now for the obligatory disclaimer – It is impossible to know the true maximum stats of any given account.  The reason for this is due, in part, to MZ’s release of Lifetime Stacking Boosts at various times.  Another reason is that each player has a different approach to the stats they emphasize on their account.  Similarly, certain consumable boosts, such as the 5,000% and 10,000% Empire Assault Attack / Defense / Health boosts and similar boosts found in the Boosts tab are not addressed in this article as they typically last for a short time (30 minutes to 1 hour) and are not widely available.  This article is based on those stats that are easily discernible from the game – Stronghold level, VIP level, Buildings, Research, Boosts, Gear, etc.  What is not covered in this article are the stats assigned solely to the Dragons (such as Dragon Armor, Dragon Attack, etc.). Use the information contained in this article at your own risk!

Where do I look to find the attack and defense stats for my account?

I reviewed how to find your current stats in an earlier article that I wrote a long time ago.  You can obtain a refresher by reviewing that article here.  You should use this method to review your stats as it collects all of them in the aggregate, wherever they may have been gained in your account.

The Stat Breakdown – Customizable Stats.

As you can imagine, stats are hidden throughout your Stronghold.  In this part, we will explore all of the places where your customizable stats can be found.

Banners

Banners

One of the first places that I like to play around with when it comes to customizing my stats is with banners.  Assuming that your Imperial Banner is maxed at Level 10, you have four regular and one special banner slot that you can fill.  More importantly, you should have 10 banner presets that you can use to customize your banner selections for quick application as your battle strategy changes.  Let’s take a look at the banners that I believe are most relevant to accounts at this stage in the game.  Keep in mind that you have five banner slots to fill but one of those slots, the special banners, do not have as high an inventory to choose from!

Defense

From a purely defensive standpoint, Empire Defender stats continue to be the go-to for defense.  As you can imagine, the best regular banners for defense are the newest banners available along with another recently released banner:

Shadow War Banner Empire Defender Attack: 299,000%
Shadow Shield Banner Empire Defender Defense 368,000%
Bloodmoon Banner Empire Defender Health 200,000%
Silent Strength Banner Empire Defender Health 83,000%

For the Special banner slot, most of the available banners are more relevant to attackers.  However, there is one banner that I think stands out as a great addition to our Empire Defender selections, above.

Moonlit War Banner Enemy Troop Attack Debuff 106,000%

Attack

Things are a little more complicated when it comes to attack banners as it seems like everyone has a different approach.  If I were running an attack account, my focus would continue to be on Empire Assault stats.  Simply put, no other banners match the stats that are presently available for Empire Assault stats.  That said, there are five regular banners that you can select from to personalize your approach.

Silent Dagger Banner Empire Assault Attack 124,000%
Silent Fortitude Banner Empire Assault Health 83,000%
Bronze Offensive Banner Empire Assault Attack 88,000%
Bronze Shield Banner Empire Assault Defense 109,000%
Bronze Guard Banner Empire Assault Health 60,000%

My preference is to take a balanced approach to Empire stats.  Thus, I would use the first four banners in my regular banner slots, omitting the Bronze Guard Banner since the Empire Assault Health stats are lower, and prioritize the Empire Assault Attack stats available from the Bronze Offensive Banner.

If you recall what I said earlier, that the Special Banner selections were more relevant to attackers, that is a correct statement.  However, the Special Banners available to attackers are still not the greatest.  I think there are two potential banners that should be considered by attackers.  One banner makes the list because it provides a stat that is somewhat hard to come by – Rally Attack.  The other banner provides attack debuff stats and should be considered as it reduces the attack of the defending troops.

Bronze Assault Banner Rally Attack 60,000%
Moonlit War Banner Enemy Troop Attack Debuff 106,000%

Which banner you go with is ultimately up to you.  I personally like the Rally Attack stat for rally attacks for the simple reason that it will increase your attack with a stat that is not tied into a debuff.  If I am attacking a stronghold with a solo, I would probably select the Moonlit War Banner since the Bronze Assault Banner would be ineffective in a solo.

Single Troop Type Builds

There is another configuration that is worth consideration with the continued injection of Type stats into the game (Infernal Soulkeeper, Winged Hussars, Chalcedony Gear Sets, anyone?).  The banner configuration I am going to describe is really geared to Type attack missiles or single troop type builds and is strongest for either Infantry or Cavalry builds.  In this configuration, you are essentially using all four of your regular banner slots to focus on single troop types.  Here are the three configurations:

Infantry

Enchanted Blade Banner Infantry Attack 74,000%
Royal Trident Banner Infantry Attack 22,500%

Infantry Defense 28,000%

Elite Infantry Banner Infantry Attack 20,000%

Infantry Defense 25,000%

Luchadore Power Banner Infantry Attack 1,500%

Infantry Defense 2,000%

Ranged

The reason this configuration is not as strong as either the Infantry or Cavalry Type is the absence of an Enchanted Banner for Ranged troops.

Royal Monument Banner Ranged Attack 22,500%

Ranged Defense 28,000%

Elite Ranged Banner Ranged Attack 20,000%

Ranged Defense 25,000%

Maraca Misterio Banner Ranged Attack 1,500%

Ranged Defense 2,000%

Draconic Ranged Banner Ranged Attack 250%

Ranged Defense 250%

Cavalry

Enchanted Guard Banner Cavalry Attack 74,000%
Bronze Armor Banner Cavalry Attack 22,500%

Cavalry Defense 28,000%

Elite Cavalry Banner Cavalry Attack 20,000%

Cavalry Defense 25,000%

Sombrero Super Banner Cavalry Attack 1,500%

Cavalry Defense 2,000%

In this configuration, Attackers and Defenders would use the same Special banners discussed above.

Dragons

Dragons

Another place that provides a great deal of personalization lies in our Dragons.  From a purely stat point of view, our Dragons will always favor the defender.

Chaos Dragon

Remember, the primary focus of your Chaos Dragon is towards Siege Troops.  That said, it also contains significant Type stats that will apply to any Type troops in your Stronghold.

Gems

Gems

Gems are another one of those tricky areas for both attackers and defenders.  Generally speaking, the strongest gems available in the game are usually the most recent release.  However, this is not always the case and players are always encouraged to play around with different combinations of Gem Sets depending on what they are trying to achieve.  Remember, you have the ability to use up to seven different Gem Sets in your gear so there is ample room for personalization!

There is room for significant debate as to which Gem Set is currently the best for Attack or Defense.  It all depends on what you are trying to achieve.  That said, I am going to list the four best Gem Sets that are presently available at this time.

If you are trying to bolster your Empire Defender or Empire Assault stats, the best Gem Set for you is the Elite Gem Set.

Elite Gem Set stats

If you are an attacker trying to maximize your Type attack, the best Gem Set for you is the Prime Aggression Gem Set.

Prime Aggression Gem Set stats

If you are a Defender who is running a Single Troop Type defense configuration, the best Gem Set for you is the Defensive Brawler Gem Set.

Defensive Brawler Gem Set stats

If you are an attack or defense account that is taking advantage of the new Type gear that was released, you should take a close look at the Decimation Gem Set and consider using at least one set of those gems in your gear.  Even if you are not using the new gear, the stats available from this Gem Set will definitely make you hit harder!

At the end of the day, you are the only person who knows what gem configuration will work best for your account.  Play around with what you have and see what works best for you!

Runes

Runes

Runes are another feature that allows for significant customization.  The biggest problem with Runes, however, is how hard it is to obtain Level 6, or Legendary, Runes.  Besides that difficulty, there is also the problem you face of the absence of Rune Savers if you like to swap those Legendary Runes out!  In spite of these issues, Runes remain an important feature in the game.

If you are running a Lead account, your best Runes are these four placed in your Weapon:

Scorching Fire Rune Empire Assault Attack 348,600%
Elite Rapid Water Rune Troop Health 97,000%
Quake Earth Rune Empire Assault Attack 139,800%

Empire Assault Defense 172,200%

Abyssal Void Rune Empire Assault Attack 348,600%

Empire Assault Health 233,200%

Troop Attack 154,900%

If you are running a trap account, or just trying to defend while filling, your best runes are shown, below:

Scorching Fire Rune Empire Defender Attack 429,600%
Geyser Water Rune Empire Defender Attack 348,600%

Empire Defender Health 233,200%

Tectonic Earth Rune Enemy Troop Defense Debuff 143,000%

Enemy Troop Health Debuff 77,000%

Siphon Void Rune Empire Defender Health 93,600%

For defenders, some of the Rune selections are driven by what I think the better Rune is between two choices.  For example, instead of using the Siphon Void Rune, you could choose the Entropic Void Rune for 131,000% Type Attack instead.

Monsters

Monsters

For attack, leads are limited to 2 monsters in their march.  Here are the strongest monsters available if you want to maximize your Empire Assault stats:

Timeless Dragon

Empire Assault Attack 244,600%
Empire Assault Defense 277,600%
Empire Assault Health 200,100%

Cerberus

Empire Assault Attack 184,500%
Empire Assault Defense 225,000%
Empire Assault Health 115,500%

If you are running a lead account, and want to maximize the attack of your hit, the current strongest troop type in the game appears to be Ranged Troops.  Thus, you may consider substituting the Cerberus monster for the Were Polar Bear to increase your Ranged stats.  However, I think loading up with Empire Assault Attack by using the Timeless Dragon and Cerberus monsters is probably the stronger play for most accounts.

For defense, you can add up to five monsters to your wall.  Here are the five strongest monsters that you can add but the focus in this configuration is on the added Ranged stats to counter the Infantry missiles that many leads are sending.

Golem

Empire Defender Attack 184,500%
Empire Defender Defense 220,000%
Empire Defender Health 121,000%

Bone Ice Dragon

Empire Defender Attack 395,000%
Empire Defender Defense 443,000%
Empire Defender Health 247,000%

Stone Golem

Empire Defender Attack 416,500%
Empire Defender Defense 515,500%
Enemy Troop Attack Debuff 154,000%

Turkey Drake

Empire Defender Attack 244,600%
Troop Defense 141,700%
Enemy Troop Attack Debuff 125,800%

If you are running a one-troop type set up, you will want to fill your fifth slot in the wall with either the Were Polar Bear, Waterlord Forest Dragon, or Reaper, depending on which troop type that you are running.  The max stats for each of these Monsters is the same:

Were Polar Bear / Waterlord Forest Dragon / Reaper

<Type> Attack 150,000%
<Type> Defense 185,000%
<Type> Health 100,000%

If you are running an even mix of troops, and your attacker is sending a type missile, such as Ranged or Cavalry, you could swap out the Were Polar Bear with the Waterlord Forest Dragon (if the lead sends Cavalry) or the Reaper (if the lead sends Ranged) as the stats for these monsters are equivalent to the stats for the Were Polar Bear.

If you are running an even mix of troops then you could go with the Serpent Dragon as a Monster with broader stats that may align better with your build.  This monster provides 138,000% attack for each type of troop, Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry.

Hero Stats

Hero II v Hero III

As many are aware, the best Hero for defending your Empire remains Hero III, especially with the release of Hero III Level 350.

All things considered, it appears that Hero II remains the best Hero to use for attacking at this time.

Any consideration of Hero stats must include reference to the Steadfast skills available for each Hero.  Here, however, we can aggregate all of the stats gained from the Steadfast skills as they apply regardless of which Hero is used.  The total stat gain from Steadfast skills are below.

Empire Defender Attack 140,600%
Empire Defender Defense 231,600%
Empire Defender Health 77,200%
Empire Assault Attack 140,600%
Empire Assault Defense 231,600%
Empire Assault Health 77,200%
Infantry Attack 59,900%
Infantry Defense 54,800%
Infantry Health 39,200%
Ranged Attack 59,900%

Troop Health 26,800%
Attack Debuff 123,200%
Defense Debuff 62,700%
Health Debuff 125,400%
Rally Attack 10,800%

As with Steadfast skills, we must also consider the stat gain from our Heroes’ Mastery Skills.  These skills also apply in the aggregate regardless of which Hero is active.

War Machine Factory / Sawduster

Sawduster

This feature was released with much fanfare by MZ but seems to have found limited traction in the game.  There are a number of reasons for this, not the least of which is that players have no way to judge whether the feature is working as intended.  Other reasons include the prohibitive cost associated with repairing your Sawduster back to full health (alternatively, you can just level the Sawduster up) and that many players just do not seem to like the feature.  I hope to complete testing with the Sawduster in the near future to determine whether it is effective defensively.

At its max, which is Level 50 in case you were curious, the Sawduster appears to bring significant stats to bear both offensively and defensively.  Here are the collected stats for a Level 50 Sawduster:

Empire Defender Attack 560,250%
Empire Defender Defense 690,525%
Empire Defender Health 374,850%
Empire Assault Attack 560,250%
Empire Assault Defense 690,525%
Empire Assault Health 374,850%
Regular Troop Attack 249,000%
Regular Troop Defense 306,900%
Regular Troop Health 166,600%
Empire Assault Troop Attack 374,000%
Empire Assault Troop Defense 460,000%
Empire Assault Troop Health 250,000%
Troop Attack 166,000%
Troop Defense 204,600%
Troop Health 111,000%
Attack Debuff 133,000%
Defense Debuff 163,700%
Health Debuff 88,900%

A review of the stats shown, above, appears to indicate the injection of a new set of stats into the game via the Sawduster – Empire Assault Troop Attack, Defense, and Health.  This set of stats does not appear anywhere else in the game and appears different from Troop Attack, Defense, and Health given that those stats are also present in the Sawduster.  I remain unsure of the significance of these stats other than to say that they do not appear defensive in nature.

What’s Next?

Now that we have collected all of the stats available in Dragon Dimension, in Part 3 of this article we will allocate our stats between attack and defense and provide insight into how you can use this information in your own account!
