Light the fires and prepare for battle!! New Cores are here and they come with a bang if you know how to craft them. Cores have been around for a long time in Game of War however, they have gone in and out of style as the game has evolved. Some players love Cores while others abhor them even if they may recognize the benefits that they give. However, whether you love or hate them understanding how these new cores work is imperative. If you love them so you can craft them and if you hate them so you can craft them painlessly.

Today we will take a look at the basics of cores and the things you need to know about the newest cores available in the Dragon Dimension. In the process, we will address some commonly asked questions you may come across regarding these new cores.

Back to the Basics

Let’s start off by heading back to the basics. From knowing what cores are, to understanding the chests you will find in your inventory, all of this information is essential. While we do have an article that covers some of these basics I also want to cover them here. However, if you need to go back and do some reading on older cores we will provide a link at the end of this article.

What are Cores?

This is the most basic of questions. However, if you are newer to the game or never really played with Cores it is one you may need to be answered. Cores are a limited time gear. Essentially we have two types of gear:

  1. Cores
  2. Permanent Gear

Cores run on a timer, much like potions. This means when that timer has been expended the Cores are gone. This timer does not start until you equip your cores, so feel free to craft and put cores in a Hero Preset, however, be cautious that you do not equip that preset until you are ready for the clock to start ticking. Even if you equip and you are not actively wearing the cores the clock will continue to count down.

Permanent gear is well… permanent. This means that once you craft it, you always have it. These are going to be the sets you are more used to in the Dragon Dimension. While we did take a brief dive into cores in the Dragon Dimension it is not something that stuck and we have not seen viable core sets in a few months now.

How do I craft Cores?

One of the best ways to describe this is to think of your cores as a potion. All of us have crafted potions at some point and so we understand the basic concepts behind this. For a Core you are going to have your Core, this is kinda like your vial, and you are going to have your pieces, these are your ingredients.

To Craft a core you will go to your forge select a core and then select the pieces to go into the core. We go more in-depth in this in another article so I am not going to spend much time here today, however, as mentioned before I will make sure that you have the link to our basic Core

Crafting article so you can go back and catch-up. I do want to be sure that we have time to discuss our newest cores today so we are going to dive into that section now.

New Dragon Dimension Cores

New Dragon Dimension Cores look a little different then what we are used to. We want to address some of those differences so you can understand what you are buying and what you are getting.

Cores

Understanding the Basics of New Dragon Dimension Cores

In order to get the most out of these new cores, you must first understand what makes them different. When we look at cores what we are used to seeing is cores that range in quality from Inferior to Legendary. This means grey, white, green, blue, purple, gold. However, new cores also come with a grade which can range from A to F.

This means that you can have two cores of the same quality with different stats because they have different grades. So now we not only have to consider quality but grade. Let’s take an even closer look at this

Quality and Grade of Cores

You can have a Legendary quality core at any grade from A to F (While I listed E in the table below I have yet to actually see any Grade E items), however, your stats will be lower at grade F than Level A. In order to help understand this more check out the images below.

Basic Grade D Core Basic Grade F Core

Both of these cores are Inferior Quality, however, one is Grade F and one is Grade D. The Grade D Core is going to give higher stats than the Grade F because it is a higher grade. While you can combine your cores to a higher Quality we have not yet seen anything indicating the ability to combine lower grades to higher grades.

Let’s take a look at New Core Chests

When we look at chests in packs we have two types:

  1. Rare September 2020 Series Cores and Piece Chests
  2. Legendary September 2020 Series Cores and Piece Chests

Many of the initial packs had PYO so you could pick between what troop type focus you wanted to get. It is important to note that the Chest levels do not mean that you will be getting Rare or Legendary quality cores and pieces.

If you read the description on the Rare Chests below you will see that the level of the chests determines the Grade of cores you will be getting. So for Rare chests, I have a chance to obtain Cores Grade B-F or Pieces Grades C-F. Legendary Chests will give the opportunity to obtain cores or pieces that are of higher grades but they may still be of low quality and need to be combined to the highest quality.

Do I Need a Recipe?

Yes and No. It is important to understand the principle of Grades and Quality when it comes to these new cores but when it comes to crafting them it is much simpler than cores of old. In order to craft these cores, you will need Flames from grade A-F at Legendary Quality the flames will give you higher stats. You will also need a miracle (insert joke here). I know that all of this sounds confusing so I created a video for all of you to help really walk you through the process. However, for now, you need to know that different color flames go with different cores.

Green Flames= Infantry Attack

Red Flames= Ranged Attack

Blue Flames= Cavalry Attack

You will want to pair the flames with the core you are crafting and a miracle to get the best results. While the ability to mix and match is possible you will see better results by sticking to one type.

In the image below you can see that I am trying to craft a Cavalry Core with Ranged Stats. You can see the stat ranges I would get if I went ahead and hit craft.

However, check out this image where I pair the correct flames and a miracle with my core. Here I am getting higher Cavalry Stat ranges and a mystery bonus. In the video attached to this article, you will see me craft a core and the final results from that.

Understanding How to Use New Dragon Dimension Cores Effectively

You crafted your new Dragon Dimension Core and now you want to use it? Well, it is important to understand how to use it correctly. It can be tempting to pair ranged, cavalry, and infantry together so you get more rounded stats. However, for a long time now there has been a continued focus on type stats in the Dragon Dimension.

To use your new Core most effectively you will want to use a type core with the correct Dragon and set up. For example, most leads now are running their Inferno Dragon because it has the highest levels. This comes with an infantry focus. You will want to pair your Infantry core with your Inferno Dragon, Infantry Gems, and Infantry Banners, and potions. Any infantry boost in your empire should be utilized with this setup. By doing this you will hit harder than if you tried to do a mixed march with a mixed core set.
