One of the most-asked questions that I receive is, “where the maximum attack and defense stats currently sit in the game?” This is not an easy question to answer given how fluid each account is and the differing approaches individual players take in their build. Why is the answer to this question so important? Because the stats of an individual account establish the strength of that account both for attacking and defending.
In this two-part series, we will identify all of the places that you look to find your status, what the current maximum stats are for defense and attack, and how you can use the information to gauge the strength of your account against others. For the first part, the focus will be on where you find various stats on the game.
* Now for the obligatory disclaimer – It is impossible to know the true maximum stats of any given account. The reason for this is due, in part, to MZ’s release of Lifetime Stacking Boosts at various times. Another reason is that each player has a different approach to the stats they emphasize on their account. Similarly, certain consumable boosts, such as the 5,000% and 10,000% Empire Assault Attack / Defense / Health boosts and similar boosts found in the Boosts tab are not addressed in this article as they typically last for a short time (30 minutes to 1 hour) and are not widely available. This article is based on those stats that are easily discernible from the game – Stronghold level, VIP level, Buildings, Research, Boosts, Gear, etc. What is not covered in this article are the stats assigned solely to the Dragons (such as Dragon Armor, Dragon Attack, etc.). Use the information contained in this article at your own risk!
Where do I look to find the attack and defense stats for my account?
The best way to determine the stats of your particular account is to access the information by clicking the “Power” function at the top center of the City view. Next, click the Boosts button below your profile and then select the stats you want to review. This is what you should see when you follow these prompts:
You should use this method to review your stats as it collects all of them in the aggregate, wherever they may have been gained in your account. Particularly relevant boosts for attack and defense that you want to review include the type stats for Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry Boosts and the Overall Troop Boosts.
The Stat Breakdown – Deciphering where stats are gained.
As you can imagine, stats are hidden throughout your Stronghold. In this part, we will explore all of the places where your stats can be found.
Research
Research will always be the most important component for building your stats and should always be your primary emphasis. Completing research in the Academy is where you will obtain the vast majority of the stats for your account. So you do not have to do it yourself, Team RealTips has reviewed and categorized all of the attack and defense stats available from the research trees currently through the release of Draconic Advanced Blitz Research in the game. Determining the maximum stats available via research is the first step in determining the maximum stats a player can achieve.

Buildings
The next place you will find attack and defense stats are within the buildings that you have chosen to incorporate into your city. For the most part, you are limited to one building of each type. From a stat point of view, the only change to this general rule is related to Villas. You can build as many villas as you have open spaces, thus leading to the debate of Villas versus Hospitals that occurs between trap players. The reason for this debate is that Villas provide defensive stats, a Troop Defense Bonus, while Hospitals provide a higher number of beds. For purposes of this article, I assume that the account only has one Villa and use the stat percentage from that for the calculation of overall stats. The buildings that provide attack and defense stats, and the stats associated with those buildings at Level 120 are, as follows:

Banners
Banners are another component of the game that can be entirely subjective and depend on what the individual player believes provides the best boost for their account. I reviewed all of the banners currently available, spoke with Lead and Trap players to obtain their thoughts, and evaluated the current state of the game to reach the best possible conclusion regarding banners.

Gems
Attack Gems
At present, the strongest gem for attacking in Game of War is the Unbreakable Gem Set. This gem set is loaded with Infantry Attack and has the added benefit of a Set Bonus that provides even higher stats. The current state of the game, between Inferno Dragon Level 150, Inferno Dragon Synergy, high type stats for Infantry in banners, and the Unbreakable Gem Set, the strongest marches will be Infantry Missiles. Here are the stats for the Set:
Infantry Attack | 7,810% |
Infantry Defense | 40,000% |
Infantry Health | 68,000% |
Infantry Attack v. Battlemarked Target | 11,000% |
Defense Gems
Absent the release of a Gem Set geared toward Ranged stats, which would be necessary to counter the stats available in the Unbreakable Gem Set, the best defense gem set present in the game is most likely the Exalted Gem Set. This set was selected because of the Type stats and the Troop Health as no other set currently matches these stats.
Infantry Attack | 1,428% |
Infantry Health | 950% |
Ranged Attack | 1,428% |
Ranged Health | 950% |
Cavalry Attack | 1,428% |
Cavalry Health | 950% |
Troop Health | 900% |
Defense Debuff | 900% |
For defense, a close second is the Catastrofica Gem Set (Catastrophic Gem, Rift Gem, Desolation Gem, and Butcher Gem) for the Empire Defender Stats available.
Dragon Skill Points
As previously stated, I have not factored in stats that apply to the individual dragons. Instead, the focus was on the stats which apply to the troops that you use to attack. Those stats are set forth, as follows:
Empire Defender Attack | 1,200% |
Empire Defender Defense | 1,500% |
Empire Defender Health | 800% |
Empire Assault Attack | 313,200% |
Empire Assault Defense | 354,500% |
Empire Assault Health | 236,800% |
Troop Attack | 225,000% |
Troop Defense | 274,200% |
Troop Health | 173,800% |

Ranged Attack vs. Battlemarked Target | 20,000% |
Cavalry Attack vs. Battlemarked Target | 20,000% |
Gear Sets
While the mixing of pieces from different Set Gear is a favorite task of many Leads and Traps, the strongest gear available in the Dragon Dimension are the most current sets that were released.
For Attacking, the best gear is the Behemoth Slayer Gear Set. Here are the stats for that set.
Empire Assault Attack | 119,050% |
Empire Assault Defense | 87,000% |
Empire Assault Health | 47,300% |
Defense Debuff | 85,900% |
Health Debuff | 47,100% |
For Defense, the best gear is the Elite Marshall Gear Set. Here are the stats for that set.
Empire Defender Attack | 108,670% |
Empire Defender Defense | 124,900% |
Empire Defender Health | 76,100% |
Attack Debuff | 77,000% |
Potions
Although potions only last for a limited time they can pack a punch. The current best potion combinations can be gained by combining the vials and ingredients for the Surge Potion.
Attack Potion
Continuing the theme regarding the strongest type of troops to use in an attack, the best potion to craft for attacking can be found by using the Infantry Surge Vial and ingredients. Doing so will provide the following boost:
Infantry Attack | 14,520% |
Infantry Defense | 14,520% |
Infantry Health | 14,520% |
Defense Potion
Given that the best attack potion is used in conjunction with Infantry troops, the current best defense potion will strengthen your Ranged Troops. Thus, the best defensive potion to craft for defense can be found by using the Ranged Surge Vial and ingredients. Here are the stats available for this potion:
Ranged Attack | 14,520% |
Ranged Defense | 14,520% |
Ranged Health | 14,520% |
Lifetime Boost Hall
The Lifetime Boost Hall collects attack and defense stats under the Athena Rewards and Combat Tabs. Assuming that you have activated all of the available attack or defense stats, you will gain the following boosts:
Empire Defender Attack | 76,425% |
Empire Defender Defense | 90,145% |
Empire Defender Health | 53,125% |
Empire Assault Attack | 100,175% |
Empire Assault Defense | 121,425% |
Empire Assault Health | 68,325% |
Troop Attack | 23,625% |
Troop Defense | 33,625% |
Troop Health | 15,625% |
Infantry Attack | 31,075% |
Infantry Defense | 88,500% |
Infantry Health | 18,750% |
Ranged Attack | 31,575% |
Ranged Defense | 102,000% |
Ranged Health | 18,750% |
Cavalry Attack | 29,775% |
Cavalry Defense | 102,000% |
Cavalry Health | 18,750% |
Attack Debuff | 68,800% |
Defense Debuff | 72,600% |
Health Debuff | 53,600% |
Infantry Attack vs. Battlemarked Target | 13,600% |
Ranged Attack vs. Battlemarked Target | 13,600% |
Cavalry Attack vs. Battlemarked Target | 13,600% |
Troop Attack v. Battlemarked Target | 9,050% |
Troop Attack with Hero | 125% |
Troop Health with Hero | 125% |
Monsters
For attack, leads are limited to 2 monsters in their march. Here are the strongest monsters for attacking at this time:
Timeless Dragon
Empire Assault Attack | 68,000% |
Empire Assault Defense | 60,000% |
Empire Assault Health | 82,000% |
Cerberus
Empire Assault Attack | 64,500% |
Empire Assault Defense | 76,000% |
Empire Assault Health | 35,500% |
If you are running a lead account, and want to maximize the attack of your hit, the current strongest troop type in the game are Infantry Troops. Thus, you may consider substituting the Cerberus monster for the Waterlord monster to increase your Infantry Attack stats to 36,000%. However, I think loading up with Empire Assault Attack by using the Timeless Dragon and Cerberus monsters is probably the stronger play.
For defense, you can add up to five monsters to your wall. Here are the five strongest monsters that you can add but the focus in this configuration is on the added Ranged stats to counter the Infantry missiles that many leads are sending.
Golem
Empire Defender Attack | 64,500% |
Empire Defender Defense | 71,000% |
Empire Defender Health | 41,000% |
Bone Ice Dragon
Empire Defender Attack | 45,000% |
Empire Defender Defense | 57,500% |
Empire Defender Health | 27,000% |
Stone Golem
Empire Defender Attack | 45,000% |
Empire Defender Defense | 57,500% |
Empire Defender Health | 20,000% |
Turkey Drake
Empire Defender Attack | 38,200% |
Troop Defense | 24,000% |
Attack Debuff | 32,300% |
Were Polar Bear
Ranged Attack | 36,000% |
Ranged Defense | 50,000% |
Ranged Health | 24,000% |
If your attacker is sending other types of missiles, such as Ranged or Cavalry, you could swap out the Were Polar Bear with the Waterlord Forest Dragon (if the lead sends Cavalry) or the Reaper (if the lead sends Ranged) as the stats for these monsters are equivalent to the stats for the Were Polar Bear.
Synergy Boost
The final stat, and my personal favorite because it has increased the player’s willingness to attack, is the Synergy Boost. Although this is primarily viewed as an attack boost, defenders can also increase the health of their troops by activating a Synergy Boost. For attackers, the current strongest Synergy Boost to use would take advantage of the overall strength of the Infantry stats. Thus, attackers should use the Inferno Dragon Synergy Boost to increase their Infantry Attack stats by 5 times the player’s current baseline stat. For defense, the defending account would use the opposite Synergy Boost, the Hydro Dragon Synergy Boost, to increase the Health of their Ranged troops by 5 times the player’s current baseline stat.
What’s Next?
Now that we have collected all of the stats available in Dragon Dimension, in Part 2 of this article we will allocate our stats between attack and defense and provide insight into how you can use this information in your own account! Although I intend to summarize some of the background information needed in Part 2, it would be a good idea to re-familiarize yourself with the mechanics of how stats work by reading these articles by Cinder regarding building your stats: Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here and Here!
