In the previous article, we focused in on three things that you are able to do in order to be able to dominate in Dragon War Dimension Kill Events. However, there is a lot of knowledge that is still needed when entering Kill Events. Such as who to hit and who to take hits from and how to protect yourself when taking hits.
If you missed Part 1 of this article be sure to take a moment to go back and give it a read:
How to Dominate Kill Events in the Dragon War Dimension Part 1
In this article, we are going to go a little more in-depth and take a look at finding good targets, protecting yourself and the most important part of Kill Events.
Three More Steps to Dominating a Dragon War Dimension Kill Event
In Part 1 we gave you three steps, today we will give you three more steps. From protecting yourself to finding targets this is needed information. Our third step, however, is the most important one out of all the information we have given you thus far.
Step One: Protect Yourself
The first and most important thing about Kill Events and being able to dominate is that you protect yourself. Before the event starts you should know that you can safely take hits before you log out with no shield. If you think that there is a risk to your account with no shield then use one.
In the Line App, we talk a lot about burn and learn, however, burning and learning do not happen as you get zeroed while offline during a Kill Event. Okay, so it does somewhat but it is not something pleasant to log into. Know that people will actively be looking for targets and keep yourself safe.
Steps to Protecting Yourself During Kill Events
- Shield- See above.
- Use Your Dragon- When taking Rallies if you are unable to cap the Dragon actually helps as a “cushion” to your troops. While you may not cap your Dragon can save troops and get reined by your Alliance members with their Dragons will help even more.
- Test, Test, Test- In Part 1 we talked about being sure to kill each other in your own Kingdom, part of that is testing so that you know your limits! While some trap accounts are built to take rallies from the average lead, not every account is a Unicorn Hunter. There is no shame in shielding or not taking a hit from a max player if you are not built for it.
Step Two: Know what a Good target looks like
In Part 1 we talked about scouting and finding active players. We also talked about using ports wisely and ensuring that you find hives with a few viable targets in order to be able to get the most use out of them. We also talked some about being sure that your targets are active. However, what we did not cover was how to determine whether or not they were a good target. So let’s take a look at what you need to look at when determining whether an account is a good target.
Step One: Scout
This seems like the most obvious. There are two things that can happen when you scout another player.
- You Get a Report.
- You Discover they have Anti-Scout on.
Obviously, if they have anti on they are trying to hide something. However, if they do not have anti on there are a couple of things you want to look at in their scout report.
- What is their troop composition
- Are they using low tier troops?
- How many Troops do they have?
- Are they heavy on a certain troop type?
- Is their Dragon Home? If it is what kind of HP does it have?
- Take a peek at their buildings
- Do they have a lot of high-level hospitals? If so they are depending on the beds to help save their troops. Be sure to check if there are any troops currently in their hospitals as well.
- Do they have a lot of High-Level Villas? These players are looking for the extra defense they get from these buildings?
- Do they have a lot of High-Level Barracks? These players are more focused on being able to train a lot of troops quickly.
- Check for Reinforcements Especially other players dragons.
- Check for boosts they may be running.
The next few things we will take a look at are things you need to check on every player, not just players that you are able to successfully scout.
Step Two: Check out their VIP
VIP can tell you a lot about a player. Including how good their stats are! VIP offers a lot of Attack, Defense, and Health. You can also tell if an account is active or willing to spend by their VIP. A high VIP on a low power account means a player is trying to compensate for a low troop count with higher stats.
Step Three: Check out their Gear
Some accounts know how to make off gear look tempting. However, some accounts also know how to cap in off gear. At times it comes down to just trying it out. Gear can tell us a lot, however, so we need to be aware of what we are looking for.
- Players with a lot of Arbiters on are relying on the extra attack to help them kill off your march.
- If they have a lot of Sentinel on they are relying on their troops to kill yours and their defense to keep them safe.
- A mix of Arbiters and Sentinel they are using the attack to help kill off your march and the Defense to reduce their losses (this is typically a good combo).
- If they have on Vindicators they are relying on the health to make their troops stronger.
- Off Gear, they are either really good or just got caught in bad gear! Watch for signs of them being online.
- Let’s be honest. Some people have no clue what they are doing with gear and it may look good but it’s not. While others are great with gear. So while checking out the gear is a good guideline it is not an end-all, you will still see players burn in good gear.
Step Four: Check Their Hero Level
Hero Level is also something that reveals a lot about a player. A higher hero level, of course, means when skilled correctly they are able to have a higher level of stats such as attack and health. However, some players do very well with a low-level hero too. One of the most important things to note about hero is the power.
The hero can actually add a lot of power into the set-up. Many traps will strategically keep their hero a lower level in order to avoid large power gains. At hero, Level 45 at least four million of power can be attributed to their hero and this continues to increase as the hero continues to level up.
Step Five: Check out their Stats
There are a few places you should check their stats. However, they can be very telling.
First: Check their Graveyard
Do they keep a clean graveyard or is it littered with high-level heroes and signs of an account that is going to hold your hero until it is ready to die? A graveyard can be very telling. In addition, check heroes captured vs. their graveyard. An account with a lot of heroes captured but a squeaky clean graveyard may be an old school keep my graveyard clean trap.
Second: Check their defenses won vs. defenses lost
This is very telling. Does this player successfully defend a majority of the time? Or are they typically losing defenses?
Third: Check their Troops Hospitalized
If you are worried about a player having a lot of hospitals check and see their troops hospitalized count. A high count here is indicative of an account that relies heavily on their hospitals to save their troops.
Fourth: Check Enemy Power Destroyed
An account that is very obviously not a lead account but has a high amount of enemy power Destroyed is killing a lot of troops off of other players. Or they are filling a lot of rallies. However, be cognizant of this number when you are checking out stats.
Step Three: Have Fun
From Part 1 to Part 2 this is the most important step out of all of them. HAVE FUN!! At the end of the day enjoy your alliance and have fun. There are a lot of things you can do to push your score over the top and to be able to score well. However, it should be enjoyable as well. If you are not having fun then being the top scorer really is not that important. We all get competitive and it is great to strive to do our best but do not lose the fun in the game or you will not appreciate the victories that you do obtain.
